conor mcgregor lightning jesus

Just when you thought Conor McGregor couldn’t talk any more trash – WHAM! This time it is at Jon Jones’s expense. Jones is widely considered the most  talented fighter in the world of MMA. He was forced to relinquish his light heavyweight belt for actions outside The Octagon, but when he is in there ready to scrap it’s all business, and a sight to behold. No belt doesn’t mean he isn’t the best.

Back to Conor…

McGregor told FOX Sports that he held infinity +1 spots on the pound for pound list that currently has him sitting at #3 behind Demetrious Johnson, and of course Jon Jones. Here’s some of the magic that poured out of the Irishman’s mouth:

He’s not. I’m No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and maybe Jon and ‘Mighty Mouse’ (Demetrious Johnson) is 10. That’s what I feel. Fabricio pulled out and threw cards down the water. Jon pulled out and threw cards down the water. Nobody was willing to step up or down. You play it safe. You don’t take risks. You won’t go all the way. I get in, I take risks and that’s why I go all the way.

Is it too early to say he is the best on the P4P list? Many think so because he hasn’t proven himself like Jon Jones and Anderson Silva did by essentially cleaning out their divisions respectively. Sure he demolished Jose Aldo, Chad Mendes, Dustin Poirier, and others, but he hasn’t defended his belt enough times against enough people to make a claim that he is the best.

McGregor is in the UFC 196 main event squaring off against  Nate Diaz this Saturday night inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Diaz stepped up after Rafael Dos Anjos pulled up lame and backed out, and several others who were offered the fight with McGregor declined it.
