mcgregor god weight

UFC Featherweight (145 lbs) Champion Conor McGregor will face Nate Diaz on Saturday at Welterweight (170 lbs). That’s a huge weight jump for the 5-foot 9-inch Irishman who had been preparing for a 155-pound bout. But he seems to be feeling so good at this new weight, he’s now even talking about moving up to the 185-pound Middleweight division.

At Wednesday’s media scrum following the open workouts, McGregor said it would be no problem.

“Who knows, I could be like a block at 170,” McGregor stated. “As I keep growing and keep eating and keep training, my body could change as I get older. I could become that solid block at 170. At that block of 170 I’d be happy to go to 185. It would be like going from 145 to 155. So, I have no problem doing that. I’d go up. No problem.”

Well, it’s not exactly like going from 145 to 155 Conor. There’s actually a 15-pound difference, not just 10, but we’ll assume you’re being hyperbolic. It is like going from 155 to 170, however, this fight with Diaz at 170 was never supposed to happen.

Aside from that there’s a 6-foot 3-inch beast sitting atop the Middleweight division by the name of Luke Rockhold that you want no part of my friend. And it seems silly to think we’re even contemplating this, but there you have it.

If Conor gets through Nate Diaz at 170-pounds on Saturday, he will most likely be fighting Robbie Lawler for the title next. Could he defeat Robbie? As crazy as it sounds, many will be able to picture that in their mind. It seems possible.

What does not seem possible is Conor ever defeating Luke Rockhold at 185-pounds. It’s completely absurd is it not? Maybe he’s yanking our chain. First things first, Nate Diaz Saturday night in the UFC 196 main event. Let’s start there.
