UFC vet Chuck “Cold Steel” O’Neil will return to middleweight action on March 11 at CES MMA 33 in Rhode Island. Chuck is keeping us up to date with how things are going leading up to the fight with “The Cold Steel Files”.

When I was growing up, I was too young to want to be a professional MMA fighter. Instead, for as far back as I can remember, I wanted to be a professional wrestler.

Thankfully, I’ve gotten the opportunity to do quite a bit of wrestling and I absolutely love it. I love getting into the ring, I love getting on the mic, I love interacting with the fans — I love everything about it.

That being said, I’ve stopped taking any wrestling bookings before I return to action at CES MMA 33 against Dennis Olson on March 11 at Twin River Casino, live on AXS TV.

I’ve taken a sabbatical from one of my true loves out of respect to, in no particular order, CES MMA, the fans, my training partners and coaches. But mostly I did it for me. MMA is my career — and another passion — and I’m doing absolutely everything I can to fight to my fullest possible potential when the cage door locks and advance in my career. I still feel I have what it takes to be one of the best middleweights on the planet.

It may be cliche — it is cliche, whatever — but I’m feeling the best I’ve ever felt, and I can’t wait to show the world everything I’ve been working on, while a lot of people have thought I’ve just been wrestling and not sharpening my tools as a professional MMA fighter.

March 11 really can’t come soon enough.

Watch O’Neil vs. Olson and the rest of the CES MMA 33 fight card live on AXStv on Friday, March 11.
