Conor McGregor left the MMA world stunned on Saturday night with a one punch 13 second KO victory over long time reigning featherweight champion Jose Aldo. Frankie Edgar earned a very impressive first round KO win over Chad Mendes on Friday night, and he is the next person in line to face McGregor for the featherweight title.

The only problem is there are rumors that McGregor will now move up to the UFC lightweight division without defending the UFC featherweight title. Edgar spoke on McGregor’s performance after UFC 194 and why he thinks he should be given the opportunity to face McGregor for the title. Check the video below:

I believe McGregor should defend the UFC featherweight title at least once before being given the opportunity to fight at lightweight. Edgar rightfully deserves a shot at the title and is undoubtedly one of the best featherweights in the world, defeating Mendes even quicker than McGregor did at UFC 189.
