Nothing sells a fight like a good storyline and former nutritional coach for BJ Penn, Mike Dolce of the famed “Dolce Diet”, rubbed the Hawaiian the wrong way when they worked together prior to Penn’s fight against Frankie Edgar in July of last year. Now the former two-division champion is saying he would come out of retirement to settle the feud with the dietĀ guru (or “his boy” Nik Lentz) at featherweight.

Penn retired after his fight with Edgar in 2014. It was his third straight loss and he’d only won one of his last seven fights. Penn was a pretty hot commodity in his day. In this interview with UFC Tonight, Penn recounts theĀ 1.1 million pay-per-view buys he and Kenny Florian did when they fought each other. And although he denied it in the interview, Penn probably has his sights set on the kind of payday a bout against Conor McGregor would do. Who could blame him for wanting a piece of that.
