Cris CyborgIt’s been a topic of discussion for a long time now, MMA fans want to see Invicta FC world featherweight champion, Cris Cyborg (12-1-1), and UFC women’s bantamweight champion ,Ronda Rousey (11-0), who are widely considered the top two female fighters in the world, fight each other.

The only thing stopping this fight from happening is the difference in weight. Ronda has made it clear that she will only fight Cyborg at 135lbs and is not interested in a catchweight bout with the Brazilian.

In a recent interview on AXS TV, Cris explained that she’s not interested in Rousey’s title:

“I’m ready. I’ve been ready for a long time, but it’s just a problem with weight. She likes to talk, I don’t like to talk too much. I know it’s more important (what happens) inside the cage.” She then went on to say “I don’t care about the belt, I’m happy with my 145lb belt. I just think it’s important to make this fight happen. I’m trying, I’ve started my diet with my coach and I’m trying 100% to make this fight happen. When I go to bed I know I gave it 100%.”

Whether or not this fight will ever happen remains to be seen, but fingers crossed it does. Both women are dominant within their respective weight classes so a superfight would confirm who is the pound for pound queen of women’s MMA.
