ufn 72UFC heads to Scotland for the first time with today’s UFC Fight Night 72 card taking place in Glasgow. A middleweight match-up between Michael Bisping and Thales Leites headlines the card, while lightweights Ross Pearson and Evan Dunham will throw down in the co-main.

The action kicks off at 10 a.m. ET / 7 a.m. PT and PMN will provide live results of all the action, with round-by-round updates of the main card.

Stevie Ray vs. Leonardo Mafra

Round 1 – Ray in black trunks, Mafra in white. After some back and forth on the feet Ray hurts Mafra with a counter right hook at about the 3 minute mark. Mafra briefly recovers but Ray stays on him and puts him away with a another right hook and follow up punches.

Leon Edwards vs. Pawel Pawlak

Round 1 – Edwards in black shorts, Pawlak in white. Edwards getting off with strikes in the first minute and a half. They spend the next couple minutes or so clinch fighting against the cage. Ref separates them finally. Pawlak with a body kick. Front kick from Edwards to the body. 10-9 Edwards.

Round 2 – Head kick from Edwards lands, but Pawlak instantly fires back. Both guys swinging heat. Another body kick from Pawlak. Edwards backs him to the cage with punches and they clinch up. Pawlak shoots for a double, it’s stuffed, and he ends up on his back with a minute or so left. Edwards finishes the round on top. 10-9 Edwards.

Round 3 – Groin strike gets us a timeout. Back at it and Edwards lands a head kick that drops Pawlak. Edwards takes top control on the ground as Pawlak ties him up. Flying knee to the body from Edwards. Two minutes to go. One minute. Nice body kick from Pawlak. 10-8 Edwards.

Joanne Calderwood vs. Cortney Casey

Round 1 – Huge pop for Calderwood in her hometown. Touch gloves. Calderwood scores with leg kicks but Casey is all over her with punches that stun Calderwood. She pushes Casey to the cage. Casey goes for a flying armbar and ends up on her back with Calderwood inside her full guard. Calderwood works the ground and pound as Casey tries to set up a submission. Nice elbows from Calderwood from the top. Calderwood postures up. This allows Casey to trip Calderwood with a heel hook attempt. Calderwood ends up on top. Not sure why Casey took this to the ground, she was winning the stand up game. Casey doing some damage off her back. Close round.

Round 2 – Calderwood is having fun. Casey looks serious. Clinch, knees and elbows from Calderwood. Casey fights her way out. Calderwood backs her up with punches. Takedown from Calderwood, Casey inside full guard. Calderwood lets her up. Right to the body, left upstairs from Calderwood. Casey fires back with punches of her own. Overhand right from Calderwood, she then trips Casey and drops some elbows on the short notice replacement. Calderwood lands some punches as Casey is upside down. Calderwood all over her, then lets her up with just under a minute to go. Thai clinch and knees from Calderwood. Right from Casey on the break. Calderwood lands a one two of her own. Good fight. 10-9 Calderwood.

Round 3 – Touch gloves. Leg kick Casey. Front kick to the face from Calderwood. Casey looking to slug it out now, but gets tagged. Overhand right from Calderwood. Casey back against the cage. A spinning back kick to the body puts Casey down. Calderwood follows up with punches on the ground, then lets her up. Calderwood picking her apart now. Casey looking very slow now. She had a terrible freaking gameplan by taking it to the ground in round one. Double leg kicks from Calderwood. Casey’s moving in slow-mo. Thai clinch from Calderwood, Casey pulls guard with just over a minute to go. Casey goes for a leg with 30 seconds left. Calderwood makes her pay for it and finishes the round on top dropping punches. 10-9 Calderwood. They hug it out.

Joseph Duffy vs. Ivan Jorge

Round 1 – Jorge eats a big knee and somehow seemingly just walks through it almost 2 minutes in. Another knee from Duffy connects. Jorge with a punch combo, he goes and gets a body lock takedown, but gets caught in a triangle and Jorge is forced to tap out.

Ross Pearson vs. Evan Dunham

Round 1 – Right hook from Pearson catches Dunham backing up. Dunham with a takedown but Ross is right back up. Dunham takes him back down and takes his back with the body triangle locked on. He eventually transitions to a armbar, cranks it tight, but somehow Pearson escapes back to his feet. Pearson with a nice right before the bell. 10-9 Dunham.

Round 2 – Dunham with a quick takedown and Pearson fights for a couple minutes to get back to his feet, but ends up with Dunham on his back again with the body triangle. Dunham softens him up with numerous punches, then looks for the armbar again. Time. 10-9 Dunham.

Round 3 – High kick from Dunham blocked. Body punch from Pearson, he stuffs a takedown attempt, and another. Dunham continues to look for the takedown as we hit the 2 minute mark. Clinch fighting. They trade hooks, and Dunham shoots in one more time, finally getting the takedown at the bell. 10-9 Dunham.

Michael Bisping vs. Thales Leites

Round 1 – Leg kick from Leites. Inside leg kick next, and it goes high, timeout called. Left hook from Leites, Bisping fires back with a right. Leg kick Leites. Bisping lands a head kick. Leg kick from Leites, uppercut. High kick from Bisping blocked. Short inside uppercut from Leites. Leg kick. Inside leg kick from Bisping. Again. Leites with a leg kick but Bisping counters with a solid right. Overhand right and a takedown from Bisping. Leites ends up taking Bisping’s back for a moment and rides him to end the round. Too close to call.

Round 2 – Inside leg kick from Leites. Overhand right from Bisping. Right hook from Leites. Inside leg kick from Bisping. Again. Overhand right from Bisping. Leites being too patient. Inside leg kick from Bisping. Then a counter right. Another leg kick from Bisping and Leites makes him pay with a big right. Body shot from Leites and a counter hook from Bisping. Bisping buckles on a leg kick. Nice body kick from the Brit. Leg kick from Leites. Inside leg kick from Bisping. Another. Leites with an inside leg kick of his own. Nice lead left hook from Bisping. Round 3 – Body kick from Leites. Inside leg kick from Bisping. Big right from Leites hurts Bisping. Another right hook looks to flash KO him but he grabs on and Bisping somehow recovers. Overhand right. Bisping is cut over his left eye as well. Big leg kick from Leites, then a body kick. Another big leg kick from Leites. They trade punches. Round 4 – Bisping looks the worse for the wear, more tiredness in his eyes. Bisping with a leg kick. Inside this time. Another. Leg kick from Leites, Bisping counters with a right to the chin. Overhand right from Leites. Overhand right from Bisping. Nice inside leg kick from Bisping. Bisping connecting with some punch combos. Counter right from Bisping. Leites being frustrated by Bisping’s continuous movement and rhythm. He can’t seem to catch him. Bisping stuffs a takedown attempt. Leg kick from Leites. Jab from Bisping. Switch head kick from Leites before the bell. 10-9 Bisping.

Round 5 – Leites coming out aggressive. Lands a one two as he backs Bisping to the cage. Bisping gets space. Nice jab from Bisping and they slug it out in the pocket for a moment. Bisping lands a nice one two. Big leg kick from Leites. Left hook from Leites. Right hand from Leites. Bisping with a counter right. Leites trying to finish. Bisping refuses to stay in the pocket, he eats a flurry against the cage. Nice counter right from Bisping, then an overhand right. Bisping is making him miss and is out boxing him now. Nice punch combo from Bisping, Leites shakes his head. One two from Bisping. Leites chasing him. Bisping seems to have him figured out. Big one two from Bisping. 30 seconds left.
