UFC 192UFC officials have announced that UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will defend his title against Alexander Gustafsson in the main event at UFC 192. The event will take place October 3 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

A light heavyweight bout between Rashad Evans and Ryan Bader will also take place on the card.

Cormier (16-1) will look to defend his title for the first time since becoming the new champion by defeating Anthony Johnson at UFC 187 earlier this year. Cormier’s lone loss came against former champion Jon Jones in December 2014.

Gustafsson (16-3) is actually coming off a brutal first round KO loss against the aforementioned Anthony Johnson in his last outing. Gustafsson arguably gave former champion Jon Jones his toughest fight at UFC 165, losing a close decision while inflicting the most damage to date against Jones.

Evans (19-3-1) is coming off a near two year layoff due to injuries. He last competing at UFC 167, defeating Chael Sonnen via first round TKO.

Bader (19-4) is coming off controversial split decision win over Phil Davis in his last outing at UFC on FOX 14. Bader has quietly won four fights in a row since losing to Glover Teixeira in 2013.
