UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson

UFC officials have announced that Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson will look to defend his title for the seventh time against John “The Magician” Dodson in the main event of UFC 191. The announcement was made during the UFC Fight Night 71 broadcast on FOX Sports 1 Wednesday night. Johnson and Dodson met for the first time back at UFC on FOX 6 with Johnson winning the bout via unanimous decision. It was a competitive fight that saw Dodson drop Johnson with strikes early in the fight, but the overall game of Johnson was enough to take the decision in the end.

There were three other bouts also announced for the card which can be found below:

  • Anthony Johnson vs. Jan Blachowicz
  • Paige Van Zant vs. Alex Chambers
  • John Lineker vs. Francisco Rivera

This will be Anthony Johnson’s first fight since losing to Daniel Cormier in their matchup at UFC 187 in March. Błachowicz is coming off the first loss in his last six fights and will look to get back on track against one of the hardest hitters in all of MMA.

The UFC 191 PPV event will take place on September 5 in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Stay tuned to ProMMAnow.com for more UFC 191 news and coverage.
