Yoel Romero won the biggest fight of his career against Lyoto Machida this past weekend by smashing his head in to oblivion. After the fight this happened:

This sent the internet in to a downward spiral of anger and accusations that Romero was bashing the US Supreme Court’s decision that the constitution allows for same sex marriages. Dana opened up to Ariel Helwani of MMAfighting.com about whether he thought the hatred towards Romero and his interview was warranted.

No, it wasn’t controversial at all. But the reality is this: You just won the biggest fight of your career, America doesn’t want to hear your thoughts on Jesus.

And with a quote that will piss off Vitor Belfort and his “Thank you Cheez-its” speeches when the Brazilian phenom is victorious, White spoke his peace about incorporating certain issues in to post-fight interviews.

Keep that stuff at home; religion, politics, all that stuff. When you’re out there fighting and you’re being interviewed, they want to hear about the fight. It’s awesome you love Jesus; love Jesus all you want. You just don’t have to do it publicly.

Of course this happened when White was not in attendance on Saturday. He is 100% is positive that Romero made no reference to marriage equality in his post-fight speech. A whole lot of other people would disagree uncle Dana.

I know he didn’t say that. I know he didn’t say it, everybody knows he didn’t say that. People react to everything but if you would just keep that stuff – you know…talk about your fight. People don’t want to be preached to.

When the English is that broken it’s hard to decipher the real meaning of his message. What do you think? Is Dana right that there was no reference to the Supreme Court’s decision?

Here is the full interview.
