It took Big Ben Rothwell just under two minutes to slap on a fight-ending choke on the Blackzilian-trained Matt Mitrione Saturday night in New Orleans. The two heavyweights went guns blazing early and the result was that a 34-9 33-year-old veteran schooled a 36-year-old 9-3 former pro football player turned fighter.
Then this happened. Jon Anik raised the mic for Rothwell’s post-fight interview and a madman took over. Well played Mr. Rothwell, well played. The only downside is Anik interrupting Rothwell’s dramatic pause and asking follow-up questions when none was needed. But we love this version of Big Ben and can’t wait to see what he has in store for us next.
