Vitor Belfort

Vitor Belfort takes on middleweight champion Chris Weidman at UFC 187. This is arguably one of the most anticipated clashes in middleweight history and has the potential to be fireworks. The rivalry between the two has centered around everything from injury postponements, steroid discussions, and flat out respect. It is finally going to happen on May 23 and if you are a true fan this is an exciting time primarily because Anthony Johnson faces Daniel Cormier for the vacant light heavyweight title on the same card. It has been a while since two title fights on the same card felt this big.

Belfort said on a Wednesday conference call that this fight in his mind is going to be the greatest the world has seen at 185 pounds. (translated from TATAME)

Only bother to train and keep my mind focused on what I can do. Not what I can do. What could have been there, the ‘if’ is not in my vocabulary. This will be the best title fight in the history of the medium, “he said, talking about his experience in the Octagon.

I’ve been here before and I am happy to be here again. How many people have this chance? I am a blessed man. That’s the word. I dedicated myself for many years to this sport. I’m doing this a long time. I was UFC tournament champion for 19 years. It is a matter of choice. Life is made of this, people who hate you and love you. Nobody kicks dead dog. I always choose the positive path
