If you watched Wrestlemania 31 you saw Brock Lesnar unchained in his match with Roman Reigns that served as the main event. Lesnar brutalized Roman Reigns until he was slammed face first in to a ring post and busted wide open. A “crimson mask” as JR would say of blood ran down his face and that served as a critical storytelling element that made Lesnar seem human and Reigns a legitimate threat. The “if it bleeds we can kill it” saying applies here. Rumors circulated that Lesnar used a small razor blade to open the cut himself. This is a technique called “painting” or “blading” and is outlawed even in wrestling rich states like Kentucky. WWE has a strict policy against blood on their TV PG product and they quickly issued a statement refuting the accusations that Lesnar did in fact cut himself open.

WWE programming is TV-PG and we don’t permit intentional bleeding. The communication or contact between our performers and referees is part of our safety protocol. That said, unintentional blood sometimes occurs, and we do our best to minimize.

Most fans no longer trust the WWE on anything. They throw die hard fans out of events, they confiscate signs, they make fun of “smart fans”, don’t push who we want to see as main event performers, and disrespect legends like Sting. The creative team is continually a joke and constantly doing things that make us scratch our heads in utter confusion. At least we know in this case they did not break their own policies and stuck to one of their own rules.

  1. He bladed. Just like the old wrestlers used to do. When you have a cherry red perfect coat of “paint” you know he bladed. Show me the gash from the ropes? Look at the horizontal blade mark on his wrinkles on his forehead …… yea, I told you so.

  2. ^^^^^lmao.

This is what kills my hope for our society. I thought this was a phase like Miley Cyrus or Chief Keef. People still arguing and complaining as if its real. Go watch MMA. At least their steroids are put to good use.

  3. I miss the Dubya-Dubya-Eff. Wrestling no longer entertaining as most superstars look like roid-jacked demons. Not saying Hulk, Savage, and Ultimate Warrior didn’t do their fair share of roids. I guess they just seemed to be better at delivering the product to stage and were fun characters to root for.

  4. This guy is a loser and a has been. I saw Him get his ASS KICKED in MMA fighting. Knocked out, eye rolled up and unconscious for days by that mean Mex. dude he was making fun of.

  5. Actually, in this case Lesnar and Reigns simply overdid it. Lesnar went too hard into the ringpost and busted himself open hardway. Definitely was not a blade job. Now, it’s possible he still did it intentionally, but it most likely hurt. If you watch the Raw from the next night, and the interview segment with Lesnar, you can see a rather ugly looking scab just under Lesnar’s hairline from the vertical wound (almost all blade jobs are horizontal cuts along the forehead creases).

What is funny is the ‘wrestling is fake’ crowd. Of course wrestling is fake. And Peter Dinklage is not a dwarf in medieval times, and Bryan Cranston is not a meth dealer. TV is FAKE. Movies are fake. Pretty much all entertainment is fake.

And it is fake. You want a sign of the downfall of our society, look at all the ‘reality’ TV. Look at MMA and boxing. Not at some folks pretending to fight, much like a fight scene from ‘Warriors’ or a boxing scene from ‘Rocky’, for our entertainment.

Besides, it isn’t the first ‘fake’ thing I have found enjoyable to watch #implants

  6. It’s still better than just about anything else on TV. Someone below mentioned Miley Cyris. Is she more real than this?

  7. great points Jalabar. It is entertainment and they do a great job entertaining. I don’t regularly watch wrestling but their storylines are more believable than most TV shows.

  8. Sorry but no. They showed him on camera the whole time he hit his head on the ring post and his hands never went even close to his fore head.

  9. To all of you morons calling WWE fake, you do know what the E stands for right? Ask the guys that perform several nights a week if the injuries are fake. Oh yeah, and Brock Lesnar is not fake, he would drop all of you keyboard warriors in seconds.

  10. WW whatever is a joke. I can’t believe people are into this stuff. MMA, boxing, kickboxing.. now that’s entertaining.

  11. Like you ?? Your here commenting because you watch the so called garbage your a liar if you say anything different.

  12. You do realize his record was 5 – 3 and that was during a time when there were not any true standouts at Heavyweight. Carwin was the closest to a true heavyweight.

I would like to have seen him be in his prime and healthy & spend the time necessary to be a HW champ, he would have been extremely scary, but his short time in MMA was fortunate timing for him.

  13. He bladed in the past but this one was legit.

As IMC stated the cam was on him the whole time, but I also replayed it slo-mo and it was a legit screw up & even the look he gave himself that he was surprised and pissed but knew it was his fault.

  14. I am %100 behind the WWE and the Harlem Globe trotters being entertainment for children. The kids have a ball, and the parents enjoy being their when their kids are having a good time. It’s a wonderful thing for the kids.

What I don’t understand is, while adults don’t take the Harlem Globe trotters seriously outside of entertainment for children, they enjoy and take part in the WWE….as adults. What’s the difference??

  15. clicking a link isn’t proof of anything other than that he clicked a link, you special little snowflake, you.
