al iaquintaAl Iaquinta made quick work of Joe Lauzon at UFC 183 on Saturday night, winning via 2nd round TKO, his third consecutive win via that fashion.  He will return to the cage to take on MMA veteran Jorge Masvidal in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 63 that’s set for April 4th in Fairfax, Virginia. The event will take place at the Patriot Center and will be headlined by the featherweight scrap between Chad Mendes and Ricardo Lamas.

Iaquinta (11-3-1) has finished his last three opponents via TKO which means six of his 11 wins have come via that fashion. He is (6-2) in the UFC which includes his loss the TUF Finale 15 finals against Michael Chiesa.

Masvidal (28-8) also comes into this fight on a three fight winning streak. The crafty Strikeforce veteran is (5-1) since transitioning over to the UFC after competing for years in the Strikeforce organization. A former title challenger there, Masvidal has been forced to change opponents for this fight several times. He was originally slated to face off against Bobby Green, but Green was injured and then replaced with Ben Henderson. Now, Henderson has been moved to another fight card to face off against Brandon Thatch which allows Iaquinta to return in April.
