floyd mayweather weigh-inManny Pacquiao has agreed to terms to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a May 2nd fight according to his promoter Bob Arum. The only thing needed now is for Floyd Mayweather to approve the deal and sign the dotted line.  The superfight that has been the most anticipated boxing match since around 2009  could finally be happening.

Or not.

Kevin Iole from Yahoo Sports with some tidbits on the deal:

The sources told Yahoo Sports that not only have the sides agreed for the fight to be May 2 at the MGM, but also on a 60/40 purse split that would favor Mayweather. Mayweather could make in the range of $120 million. An MGM spokesman told Yahoo Sports that there was no deal for the fight to be held at the Grand Garden as far as he is aware.

There have been many hang ups in the past when this fight has been discussed.  There have been purse split, drug testing, and which network would air the fight since Mayweather has a deal with Showtime and Pacquiao with HBO.

Arum commented on the situation:

“I think Manny has been very reasonable and demonstrated that he wants the fight to happen. Now, we’re waiting on Floyd. That’s not to say that Floyd has been obstinate, that Floyd won’t do it, but we’re waiting on him.”

Stay tuned as we’ll keep you up to date on the discussions.  We’re just waiting on Mayweather at this point it seems?  If the fight happens….who do you have winning Mayweather or Pacquiao?
