UFC light heavyweight title challenger Daniel Cormier has ascended quickly to the top of the MMA world. He began competing in the sport in 2009 and has amassed a record of (15-0) with with 10 of those wins coming via either submission or TKO/KO. Cormier began competing in the Strikeforce promotion as a heavyweight and won their inaugural Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix in just his 10 fight against former UFC heavyweight champion Josh Barnett. Cormier than transitioned into the UFC once the Strikeforce brand was acquired and began eyeing a move down to the light heavyweight division since his training partner Cain Velasquez was and is the UFC heavyweight champion.
