UFC's Renan Barao
Champ Renan Barao

Renan Barao will tell you he really, really, really, really dislikes the guy who beat him for the UFC bantamweight championship. TJ Dillashaw is not on his nice list for Christmas this year. TJ has said some pretty harsh things about Barao’s skillset, and even questioned his heart at one point. Whatever the reality is Barao put on a show at this weekend’s UFC Fight Night 58 defeating his opponent Mitch Gagnon by submission in the 3rd round. He talked about the fight and the win at the post fight presser.

I was happy to be fighting in front of the Brazilians,I don’t think the fight was that hard. I knocked him down in the first round, he basically just held me in the second, and I was able to submit him in the third. Gagnon is a tough guy, I told that before the fight in interviews, and it was a great fight.

I will rest now, enjoy the end of the year with my family, and talk to (Andre Pederneiras) and Jair Lourenco. If I have the opportunity to fight soon or wait a bit, I’m here. I love to fight and I love to be inside the Octagon. My goal is always to fight.

I will bring this belt back to Brazil.

Renan has even stated he would fight “cocky” Dillashaw for free if the UFC let him. The rematch is definitely going to be hyped with all of the publicized trash talk that has gone on already.
