It was announced Saturday night during the ‘UFC Fight Night 58: Machida vs. Dollaway‘ broadcast that Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has re-signed with the UFC and will be returning to the Octagon in 2015.

A promo was shown with Rampage saying, “This is where I belong.”

MMA fans in the know have heard it before from the former UFC light heavyweight champ and it wasn’t that long ago when he was saying he felt at home in Bellator and despised the UFC. Regardless, his name carries weight and fans will tune in to see a Rampage fight, especially if it’s against someone who’ll stand and trade with him, because he always has a chance to knock someone out. The guy hits hard, there’s no doubt about it, but he’s pretty one dimensional at this stage of his career.

Rampage last fought in May when he won a very controversial decision over King Mo at Bellator 120 just outside Memphis. He fought and won three fights inside the Bellator cage between Nov. 2013 – May 2014.

The 36-year-old Memphis native last fought in the UFC in Jan. 2013 when he lost a unanimous decision to Glover Teixeira. It was Rampage’s third straight loss inside the Octagon, and he ended up signing with Bellator a few months later.

It’s interesting to note that Bellator President Scott Coker has stated Rampage is still under contract with the Viacom-owned promotion.

Reports indicate the Viacom lawyers are all over this so stay tuned.
