renan barao vs tj dillashaw

Renan Barao fights in Brazil for the first time since he signed with the UFC, squaring off against Mitch Gagnon at UFC Fight Night 58 on Dec. 20. He has been relatively quiet since his loss to TJ Dillashaw, but did speak to MMAFighting.com.

Fighting in Brazil for the first time is amazing. I’m well trained, doing an excellent camp. Every fight is important. Just to have the opportunity to go in there and show my work is amazing. I’m really happy with the opportunity to fight here.

Initially showering praise for the man who took his 135 pound belt, talk has turned sour. Barao slammed TJ even insinuating the champion would soil himself.

I think he would crap his pants. Fighting in the United States is easy. I want to see him fighting me in Brazil. It’s completely different.

Barao believes that TJ’s mouth has been open too many times with his name on Dillashaw’s tongue. Renan dumped his nice persona for a moment and blasted Dillashaw.

Dillashaw is talking too much crap. If we fight again, you can be sure it will be completely different. When we fight again, he will see the real champion. I don’t like to make jokes, talk trash. I like to show my work inside the cage, show the best Renan Barao possible. He can enjoy that belt for now, because it’s coming back to Brazil soon.

Dillashaw is probably going to be fighting former champion Dominick Cruz early next year, and Barao says TJ is in trouble.

I believe Dominick wins. He has more weapons, and I think he wins.

And Barao wants a rematch with Dillashaw to the extent that he would pass up a title shot for it if Cruz takes the belt back.

I’d rather fight Dillashaw first, It would be a big fight. Fighting Dominick later would be great. I just want to fight the best and bring the title back to Brazil.

My goal is to fight for the title again. If (Dillashaw) has the title, I hope I can fight him as soon as possible. That’s my goal.
