Macho Man Randy Savage

So many people have been inducted in to WWE’s Hall of Fame. In fact there have been some that have shocked long time fans like Warrior and Bruno Sammartino because of their outspoken negative views on WWE. Never say never in the world of sports entertainment because never is most always well, never. Vince specializes in burying the hatchet for what’s best for business.

In 2015 WWE will have to pull out all stops to top 2014’s inductions. Scott Hall, Ultimate Warrior, and Lita are three big name fan favorites. Warrior’s return to WWE was an incredible tale of reconciliation, triumph, and ultimately tragedy when he passed just days after his induction. The point is that WWE is capable of reconciliations that defy the odds and this year may prove to be their biggest test for at least one in particular – hint, it’s not Sting.

STING
Steve Borden aka Sting

Sting was World Championship Wrestling’s Hulk Hogan and then some to WCW for years. He was their flagship good guy, their John Cena of the time – only Sting could truly wrestle. Sting never stepped foot in a WWE ring because of his religious beliefs conflicting with the product Vince and his crew were putting out at the time they purchased WCW. It was the greatest “not to be” in WWE history, period. This year could be different, especially since his inclusion in WWE 2K15 the video game was made such a big deal. With rumors of a send off match at Wrestlemania 31 it seems likely they will introduce him to new WWE fans before then, and will then most certainly induct him in to the Hall of Fame.

The 2nd, and most likely marquee entry of this year has to be Randy Savage. Despite what his brother Lanny stated recently we believe that HHH and Vince can make this happen. Randy was at odds with Vince for so long for what many WWE officials and performers believed to be Savage’s own paranoid reasons. Savage left WWE in 1994 for WCW and that really widened the divide with Vince McMahon. There were unfounded rumors of Randy having sex with Stephanie when she was only 17 being the reason for the rift, but there has been no evidence of that event taking place. It seems by most accounts it was Randy’s paranoia that led to a departure, a belief that he was being plotted against and that there were officials out to get him. None of that was true.

Vince and company recently released a Randy Savage DVD and that almost guarantees the Macho Man a spot in the 2015 Hall. His brother swears that Savage stated the only way he would accept an induction would be if his family went in. Lanny and Angelo (father) were both wrestlers, but nowhere near the star Randy himself was. Many have discredited Poffo’s claim that knew Randy and WWE has shown no interest in inducting the family. Most believe it is Lanny’s wishes that prompted him to begin spreading this belief beginning after Randy died.

On the morning of May 20, 2011, Savage died after suffering a sudden heart attack while driving with his wife in Seminole, Florida, a town on the Pinellas County side of the Tampa Bay area. He was 58 years old. Savage became unresponsive and lost control of his Jeep Wrangler, crashing into a tree. His death ensured that there would be no true reconciliation story with McMahon and that his induction in to the Hall of Fame would never be officially endorsed by Randy himself. If they do choose to induct him and let Lanny speak it could get interesting. Over the years Lanny Poffo has become more and more bitter about his time in WWE and more importantly the years in WCW where he sat at home and never wrestled a single match the entire time he was there. Again, Lanny on a mic could get interesting real fast.

If Savage and Sting go in – who else do you think they will induct in 2015?
