Cejudo was set to officially debut at the UFC 177 event but was forced to withdraw due to medical issues. The UFC Phoenix event will take place at the US Airways Center and will be headlined by the heavyweight scrap between former champ Junior dos Santos and Stipe Miocic.
Cejudo (6-0) was victorious in his last outing in January, a unanimous decision win over Elias Garcia. Cejudo has had issues making weight in the past, and this bout will take place at the bantamweight limit which should make him making weight a non-issue.
Kimura (11-2) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to George Roop in his last outing. He is currently (2-2) inside the UFC promotion and will be looking to get back on track against the newcomer.
