Conor McGregor 1
See, McGregor even made it as the image inside the article about Jose Aldo.

Conor McGregor hype train now boarding seating millions of fans and the entire country of Ireland.

Ever since McGregor made his first UFC appearance it has been hype city wherever he went. With natural talent, charisma, and the skills to back up his Sonnen style trash talk it is not surprising. After crushing Dustin Poirier in the first round he was calling out Jose’ Aldo within minutes of his hand being raised.

Aldo has not been one to do things just to promote a fight, except for pushing Chad Mendes, but even then he apologized and admitted it was just a publicity stunt. He’s a professional fighter who is also a good guy, but we’ll see how long that lasts when McGregor’s mouthy self promotion builds to feverish intensity leading up to a possible fight with Aldo.

MMAJunkie interviewed the 145 pound champ and asked him about his fight with Chad Mendes at UFC 179 in Rio de Janeiro on October 25th. They followed up with the inevitable questions about the Irishman.

“I make it a point to observe all fighters in the featherweight category. I’m the champion, and I plan to remain the champion. I do pay attention to any featherweight fight where someone is ranked in the UFC, since that could potentially be my next adversary.”

Okay, playing it safe so far. He began to let the interviewer know he felt it was disrespectful to be speaking about McGregor when he was facing 145 pound standout Chad Mendes first. He maintained his composure and answered safely again.

“After my fight [with Mendes], I’ll have time to see what the hype’s all about.”

Now, a brief glimpse of Jose’s real thoughts on McGregor peaked over the cool exterior.

“I don’t see anything that stands out”, Aldo said. “Conor is no different than any other fighter.”

Conor has probably cut 100 promos on those comments alone. Recently he stated he would fight again before his guaranteed title shot against Aldo, but we’ll see what happens. If Aldo finishes Mendes quickly and sustains no injuries like he is prone to do – we could see it early 2015. If Aldo is injured Conor would most likely fight again before his shot, and he’d be stupid not to with his popularity exploding and big paydays rolling in.

A showdown with Dennis Siver maybe?
