A slow start to a very intriguing UFC 178. The FOX Sports 1 prelims were looking less than fantastic as the first three fights all went to a decision. That all changed when former bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz returned after a couple of injuries to meet Takeya Mizugaki.
Three years of pent up frustration was unleashed in a 61 second massacre. Cruz came out and was able to get Mizugaki down. He followed that up with some big shots as Mizugaki was pinned against the cage. Shot after powerful shot landed until the number 5 ranked bantamweight face planted into the canvas.
The fight was awesome, the verbal shot at Team Alpha Male was the icing on the cake. Cruz told Joe Rogan”I just look forward to beating up more Alpha Fails”.
A fight with TJ Dillashaw has to be on deck right? That is a match up in the bantamweight division that can really get people talking. Twitter went absolutely nuts over Cruz’s win. With only a minute of work, Cruz should be ready to go soon right?
UFC 178’s pay per view portion is about to kick off but I would imagine that a performance bonus has already been set aside for Mr. Cruz.
