eddie alvarez-bellator 66As former Bellator lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez prepares to make his long-awaited UFC debut this Saturday night, Sept. 27th, Spike TV will air what they are calling Alvarez’s “greatest fights” right at the time the UFC 178 pay-per-view gets underway.

Starting at 10 p.m. ET/PT, Spike TV will air a 90-minute “Eddie Alvarez: Free on Spike” special which will feature Alvarez’s two memorable title fights against Michael Chandler. Alvarez’s 2011 bout when he lost the title to Chandler at Bellator 58 will air first, and then the 2013 rematch at Bellator 106 when he regained the belt will follow.

Alvarez will be facing Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone on Saturday, who currently resides at the No. 5 spot on the UFC’s official lightweight (155 pound) rankings. Almost all the oddsmakers have this fight dead even at -110, although one European site does Alvarez a very very slight favorite.

Who will you be picking on Saturday between Alvarez and Cerrone? And will you be watching reruns or the live event this weekend — or both?
