Ric Flair Interview Pic-medium

Despite the massive hype by WWE for his appearance at the event, Ric Flair missed WWE NXT Takeover because he was hospitalized. No one is sure what happened except the WWE and they aren’t telling. Flair had several minor surgeries that were described as “not life threatening”.

Originally, Flair was booked for this week’s SmackDown tapings and the Night of Champions pay-per-view on Sunday. It appears now that the “Nature Boy” will most likely be able to keep those appearances.

WWE is expected to make an official announcement on Flair’s health through their website today.

Marc Middleton reported this via Wrestling Inc.

It was reported last Thursday morning, just hours before the WWENXT Takeover event, that Ric Flair would be missing the show due to a personal conflict. Flair was scheduled to appear at Takeover in a segment with Kenta, introducing him as Hideo Itami.

It turns out that Flair was hospitalized at the Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia. We know that Flair was in the hospital as of September 9th and the decision for him to miss Takeover may not have been made until late Wednesday evening, September 10th.
