UFC officials have announced that former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua will take on Jimi Manuwa on November 8 at UFC Fight Night 56. This fight will serve as the main event and will take place in Brazil, airing on FOX Sports 1.
Rua (22-9) is coming off a brutal KO loss courtesy of a right hand by Dan Henderson in March. The former champion was dominating Henderson before getting caught the a patented “H-Bomb”, which was his third loss in his last four fights.
Manuwa (14-1) is coming off his first professional defeat at the hands of former title challenger Alexander Gustafsson in March as well. Manuwa had won three consecutive fights in the UFC with all of them coming via TKO.
