According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the “Carolina Reaper” was named the world’s hottest chili pepper in 2012 after tests showed it averaged 1,569,300 on the Scoville scale with peak levels of over 2,200,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU).
The previous record was held by the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion which has an average of more than 1.2 million SHU.
Compare those to a regular jalapeno pepper, which has about 8,000 SHU.
Now meet Pro MMA Now friend, Jon “Buster” Cherry, and watch as he not only eats a Carolina Reaper, but refuses himself any type of liquid or food for five minutes afterward. Tremors, sweat, pain and agony are the result. He cried out during the experience, “You have no idea where I am right now. I’m in Satan’s taint playing f*cking tic-tac-toe with the Devil’s ass.”
Afterward he stated, “Just went through some of the worst pain in my life. When the reapers got down in my stomach it had me balled up in the floor.”
