Brock-Lesnar

So I will call a long time friend of mine “Rumor Man” for the sake of this article and at the request of his anonymity. A recent verified rumor by Rumor Man was the release of Alberto Del Rio and I got the news a few hours earlier than the rest of the world did. He is probably about 65% right so take that in to consideration before reading and then almost certainly flaming.

Everyone knows that Brock Lesnar’s manager and mouthpiece Paul Heyman has been talking about Brock’s uncertain future with fighting lately. Well, according to Rumor Man this is a double edged sword. On the one hand Paul gets to suck in MMA fans to the WWE and floods the UFC news sites like MMAFighting.com, and the one you are on right now with Brock related traffic. The other side of the coin here is that Vince McMahon, HHH, and WWE creative get really nervous when the guy they let beat The Undertaker at Wrestlemania – thus ending his streak, might leave. Genius bargaining chips if you ask us.

So here’s the story from Rumor Man I received earlier today:

A guy that sometimes runs in the same circles as Brock said he was telling him he wanted to fight again. He feels he’s healed up and ready to start training again. Said he felt like the first time he wasn’t ever really healthy. He also said he told him that he never really had time to prepare before being thrown in to the spotlight against Frank Mir the first go round. He said he wouldn’t mind one more fight with Mir or Overeem. Wasn’t really interested in Cain, though.

So that’s rumor #1. Rumor Man also stated the following a little while later finishing up his report from Lesnar Land:

The guy also told me that very few people know how badly Brock wants to end an MMA career with a win. He said he feels like there’s more left to do and he only got to do like half of what he really wanted to. It’s probably half true, but which half? The guy is an acquaintance of Lesnar though so this may be true. For what it’s worth he said like 2 years maybe. He has to finish a program with John Cena and probably Roman Reigns. The guy asked him if he was going to face Taker again at Wrestlemania and he said flat out no.

So there you have it folks. Rumor Man strikes again. Please keep in mind that these are just that, rumors until Dana makes an official announcement if it ever comes to pass.

Here is what Paul Heyman told MMAFighting about a return. Check it out.

“I think he’s very, very happy right now with what we’re doing in WWE,” said Heyman. “It’s (returning to fight in UFC) not a subject he has to think about. If the deal ends up over in WWE, if a change of circumstances happens, and if it’s a no-brainer to get him back into the cage, I’m sure it’s something he’d consider. Right now, it’s not a topic of conversation. Why would you mess up the WWE deal?”
