Wanderlei spoke to the media in Brazil to call out Pride standout and fellow MMA legend Dan Henderson now that nemesis Chael Sonnen can no longer compete due to failed drug tests. Dan knocked out Wanderlei in 2007 and won the Pride Welterweight championship at the same time avenging a decision loss in the same organization back in 2002. Everyone wants to avenge their losses at some point and Silva is no different. Obviously he would love to erase the blasting he got from Vitor Belfort back in 1998 just seven fights in to the Axe Murderer’s career.
“I want to be back soon to make the 50th fight of my career”, said Silva.” I would like it to be in a special card. It’s not news that I want to face Vitor Belfort or Chael Sonnen. But Dan Henderson is other guy that I want to fight, it’s a viable possibility. We’re 1-1 tied and it would be nice to have a tiebreaker of our score.
Never let it be said that Wand has a lack for creating drama and wants to bring some importance to this fight. He has a great idea and one that would make this fight mean so much to both fighters.
“In my last fight at Pride, I lost my belt to him and I couldn’t have a rematch because we left. If this fight happens, I’ll ask him to bring the belt so the winner can have it after the fight.”
Silva also wants the fight to occur in his home, but is not afraid to fight anywhere. He also believes that this fight is one that would market itself very well.
“This fight could happen in any place of the world. It would be beautiful to happen at a soccer stadium in Curitiba, Brazil, where I’m from. The UFC are promoting a lot of cards and there are a lot of fights that people even don’t know that will happen. But Wanderlei Silva vs. Dan Henderson would sell very well. A bout between champions has to be considered a big show.”
Dan Henderson took to Twitter and seemed to agree that this was a good idea, too.

If Silva’s drug testing mess clears up this fight could indeed happen and we want to see it.
