Ex-WWE champ Daniel Bryan probably had no idea how his day would turn out yesterday. Things changed when he returned home and found someone exiting his crib after breaking in.

Was it Daniel Bryan or Bryan Danielson (his real name) that instinctively sprang into action chasing down the perps? Danielson, who is recovering from an injury, was able to catch one of the bad guys and subdue him until the police came. How awesome is that. Here is what Danielson had to say about the incident.

“I took him down.I put him in a rear naked choke, but not too hard. I didn’t want to hurt him. I just wanted to make sure he was subdued until police could come. The fun answer would be that I put him in the ‘yes’ lock and he was tapping on the ground, but that’s not what actually happened.”

The robbers didn’t get away with anything they had taken. The only thing of value that they grabbed was a keepsake that Danielson’s father had given to him before he passed away.

At the end of the day,  22-year-old Cesar Sosa was booked into the Maricopa County Jail, charged with burglary. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he had some warrants out for him as well. Police served felony warrants for another case of burglary and kidnapping. Ouch.

Danielson now joins the ranks of UFC champ Jon Jones  as a part time crime fighter. I wouldn’t mind seeing either roll up in a squad car when the shit hits the fan.

  1. Hardly surprising. Whilst not a behemoth, Bryan is still solidly built, quick and has trained at Couture’s gym.
