ufc on fox 12 resultsUFC on FOX 12 takes place this evening at the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif. The event is headlined with a welterweight title-eliminator bout between slugger “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler and technical tough man Matt “The Immortal” Brown.

In the co-headliner, Anthony “Rumble” Johnson tries to move one step closer to a title shot as he takes on Brazilian royalty, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

UFC on FOX 12 online preliminary action kicks off 4:15 p.m. ET on UFC Fight Pass, moving to FOX prelims at 6 p.m. ET, and main card action on FOX at 8 p.m. ET.

UFC on FOX 12 round-by-round updates:

Noad Lahat vs. Steven Siler – 145 lbs.

Round 1 – Former TUF 14 Pro MMA Now blogger, Mr. Siler, up first on tonight’s card. Big leg kick from Lahat. He then gets a takedown. High guard from Siler. Ref stands them up after Lahat fails to get anything going. Lahat lands a good right hand. Also, a left hook. After clinching, Lahat gets a judo throw takedown but Siler is right back up. Siler with a nice left jab, also an uppercut and a body kick. Lahat is able to get another judo throw though and Siler ends the round on his back. Siler got the better of the standup but Lahat scored three takedowns. Crazy Bob Cook in Lahat’s corner. Close round.

Round 2 – Lead left hook from Siler. Hard to believe this is Siler’s 10th UFC fight. Crazy. He hurts Lahat with an uppercut. Lahat lands a kick to the face. Then they go to trading strikes for a while. Nice right hook from Siler after a brief clinch. Big leg kick from Siler. Lahat scores another takedown. Siler goes for an arm, they scramble, Lahat takes his back. Siler escapes but ends up caught in a triangle. Seems okay though, with 30 seconds left in the round. Lahat now goes for an arm before the bell. PMN sees it 10-9 for Lahat.

Round 3 – Couple of exchanges before Siler ends up getting Lahat to the ground and taking his back, body triangle locked on and looking for the choke. After a couple minutes, Siler lets it go and brings it back to the feet. Left hook from Siler, and working the jab. Right hook from Lahat. Siler wobbles Lahat with a one-two. Lahat lands a flying knee straight to Siler’s groin and time out is called. Siler stuffs a takedown, lands a right hook counter, then takes Lahat’s back and lands a few shots before the bell. PMN sees the round 10-9 for Siler, but the fight will likely go to Lahat.

Lahat is an Israeli soldier and is now headed back to his country where he will fight in the battle going on there now. He gave a post-fight interview with Rogan and talked about how he would love to stay here and concentrate on fighting in the Octagon, but said his family’s home is in danger in Israel and he has to go.

Juliana Carneiro Lima vs. Joanna Jedrzejczyk – 115 lbs.

Round 1 – Lima looks for the takedown after a couple exchanges. Jedrzejczyk defending the takedown attempt against the cage. Lima relentless with it and finally gets Jedrzejczyk down, but she’s right back up and ref separates them. Jedrzejczyk cracks her with a big right hand. Stuffs a takedown then cracks Lima with a left hook. Lima looking for the takedown again. Ref separates them again. Lima smiling after some of Jedrzejczyk’s punches. Jedrzejczyk lands a few shots before the bell. PMN sees it 10-9 for Jedrzejczyk.

Round 2 – Jedrzejczyk getting the better of the standup, landing some nice body shots in the process. Some nice overhand rights from Jedrzejczyk. Clinch-fighting for a bit before finally getting separated by Mr. Beltran aka Mr. Gangsta Stache. Nice front kick to the face from Jedrzejczyk — Lima didn’t smile at that. PMN sees it 10-9 for Jedrzejczyk.

Round 3 – Jedrzejczyk using superior boxing to outstrike Lima. Nice overhand rights, jabs and hooks, to the head and body from Jedrzejczyk. Lima not doing much at all. Lima finally shoots in and gets a takedown, lands in side mount. Lima not able to take advantage of the position though and Jedrzejczyk gets back to her feet before the bell. PMN sees the round 10-9 for Jedrzejczyk, and the fight 30-27 for her as well.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Joanna Jedrzejczyk def. Juliana Carneiro Lima by unanimous decision (30-27 x 2, 29-28)

Gilbert Burns vs. Andreas Stahl – 170 lbs.

Round 1 – Burns looks for the takedown early but Stahl defends. Stahl landing some nice shots from the clinch, Burns turns him around to the cage, looking for the takedown again. Stahl defends but eats a big shot before getting taken down. Stahl right back up, landing a right in the clinch. Burns cut over his right eye. Stahl’s nose busted. PMN sees the round 10-9 for Stahl.

Round 2 – Nice exchange, Burns scores with a right. Couple body shots and leg kick from Burns. Stahl clinches up against the cage. Vitor Belfort in Burns’ corner. Nice punch combo from Burns. Stahl retuns with punches before clinching. Head kick from Burns, then scores a takedown, landing in side mount. He tries to go to full mount and Stahl times the attempt to make his move and gets to his feet, unloading some punches. Overhand right and spinning back kick from Burns before the bell. PMN sees it 10-9 for Burns.

Round 3 – Burns comes out landing punches first, to the head and body. Stahl breathing out of his mouth the last round and this round due to the blood from the damage Burns has done to his nose. Burns with a punch combo and high kick. Couple punches and body kick from Stahl score. Spinning elbow from Burns lands. Big leg kick from Stahl. Fairly close round, but PMN sees it 10-9 for Burns, and the fight 29-28 for Burns.

Akbarh Arreola vs. Tiago Trator – 155 lbs.

Round 1 – Both guys’ UFC debut. Trator scores first with a couple leg kicks. Arreola goes high with a kick. Trator slips on a kick, but is right back up where they trade strikes. Trator getting the better of it for the most part. Arreola  with a nice body kick. Trator with a big right hand. Big leg kick from Trator. Trip takedown by Arreola before the bell. PMN sees the round 10-9 for Trator.

Round 2 – Huge leg kick from Trator sends Arreola to the canvas just before the 4 minute mark. Trator lets him up. Big body kick from Arreola. Right elbow from Trator, then a leg kick and body kick. Arreola scores with a head kick. Overhand right from Trator, then a leg kick. Big right from Trator, then a leg kick. Nice body kick from Arreola. Trator looks for the takedown but can’t get it. Arreola catches a leg kick and takes Trator down. Lets him up though and Trator lands a nice punch, leg kick combo. Big body kick from Arreola knocks Trator off balance. PMN sees the round 10-9 for Arreola.

Round 3 – Body kick from Arreola, then a nice left hand. Trator tries to clinch up with strikes, but Arreola backs out and lands a nice body kick. Trator lands a nice elbow in the clinch. Nice left from Arreola. Trator clinches up, lets it go after Arreola defends. Body kick from Arreola. One two punch combo follows. Trator with the clinch again, lands an elbow. Another, a right hand, knee to the body. Trator turning up the aggression with a minute to go. Clinch-fighting with 30 seconds to go.  PMN sees the round 10-9 Trator and the fight 29-28 for Trator.

Mike De La Torre vs. Brian Ortega – 145 lbs.

Round 1 – E La Torre lands a couple punches before Ortega clinches up, looking for the takedown, gets him down and takes De La Torre’s back. Both hooks in. De La Torre stands up with Ortega on his back, body triangle locked on. Ortega locks on the choke, De La Torre defends for a moment, but Ortega is able to re-apply the choke and Big John stops the fight when he sees De La Torre tap out, still standing.

So, I was trying to find out WHY Matt Brown missed weight yesterday. Turns out he said his scale was wrong. I like this reason better though…

Tim Means vs. Hernani Perpetuo – 170 lbs.

Round 1 – Perpetuo connects first with punches. They trade on the feet for a bit before Means looks for a takedown and it’s stuffed. Perpetuo getting the better of the standup, but Means fires back with some nice elbows. Nice upward elbow from Means. Body kick from Perpetuo. He then takes a poke in the eye and time is called. Perpetuo complains of a head butt, then turns up the aggression after the ref lets it go. PMN scores it 10-9 for Perpetuo.

Round 2 – High kick and spinning back kick from Perpetuo. Means gets off a nice punch combo around the 2:40 mark. He then lands a nice left that knocks Perpetuo against the cage, rocking him. Seems to have recovered though as Means is not able to capitalize. Means starting to find his range with his hands now and touching Perpetuo up. Perpetuo has slowed down quite a bit since round one. Lands a nice leg kick though. PMN sees it 10-9 for Means.

Round 3 – Leg kick Perpetuo. He’s trying to load up with a big right, but Means is looking a lot more fluid and loose. Inside leg kick from Perpetuo. Again. Means with a jab. Another inside leg kick from Perpetuo, and another. Perpetuo’s left arm appears to be injured. He’s not using it at all really, letting it hang at his side, fighting one-handed mostly. He’s still in Means’ face though. Means lights him up with a couple shots and Perpetuo slaps his own face, telling him to bring it on. Means shoots in before the bell. PMN sees the round 10-9 for Means, and the fight 29-28 for Means.

Patrick Cummins vs. Kyle Kingsbury – 205 lbs.

Round 1 – They trade jabs to start. Cummins shoots right away and picks up a single leg to get Kingsbury down. Kingsbury tries getting up bit gets tossed back to the mat. Kingsbury makes his way right up though, clinched against the cage. Cummins puts him right back down and briefly has half guard before Kingsbury gets up, then gets put back down. Then back up. Uppercut from Kingsbury. Cummins shoots, lands a right on the break. Inside leg kick from Kingsbury but Cummins fires back with punches, and gets another takedown. Cummins on top in half guard, controlling and dropping elbows. More elbows from Cummins. Kingsbury gets to his feet, still in a front headlock. They separate. Bell. PMN sees it 10-9 for Cummins.

Round 2 – Nice leg kick from Kingsbury. Another. Cummins with another takedown. Kingsbury back up. Body lock takedown from Cummins. Kingsbury gets to one knee, then his feet. Nice inside leg kick from Cummins. Again, followed by a jab. Uppercut from Kingsbury. Nice jab from cummins stuns Kingsbury. He then picks him up for a big slam. Full mount, now half guard, and dropping elbows and hammerfists. PMN scores it 10-9 Cummins.

Round 3 – Right hook from Cummins, then a head kick. Cummins with a takedown, on top in half guard landing the ground and pound. Kingsbury gets to a knee then eventually his feet. Cummins puts him back down and lands more shots. Kingsbury once again gets to his feet. Knee and uppercut in the clinch from Cummins. Kingsbury looks exhausted. Cummins puts him down one more time, has half guard, Cummins postures up with more punches. This allows Kingsbury to get to his feet. Cummins holding a front headlock, lands a knee to the body, and gets one more takedown. PMN sees it 10-9 and the fight 30-27 for Cummins. This was complete domination by Cummins. Not sure what the future holds for Kingsbury, but this was a very poor showing.

Daron Cruickshank vs. Jorge Masvidal – 155 lbs.

Round 1 – Cruickshank drops Masvidal with a huge right. Masvidal hops right up and says bring it on. Body kick from Cruickshank. Masvidal catches a leg and jumps with a flying knee, and more knees. Front kick to the face from Cruickshank. Leg kick. Cruickshank using quick kicks to try and keep Masvidal on the outside. Masvidal landing some nice punches and an elbow. Nice switch kick, then a takedown from Masvidal before the bell. Good stuff. PMN sees it 10-9 for Cruickshank.

Round 2 – Amazing Masvidal recovered from that initial knockdown in round one. Leg kick from Masvidal, then a body kick. Side kick from Cruickshank, eats a counter left, but Cruickshank gets a takedown. Masvidal is able to reverse it and ends up on top inside full guard. Masvidal stands over him, eats some upkicks before Masvidal lays on him in half guard. Cruickshank recovers full guard. Masvidal locks up a D’arce choke. Masvidal finally lets it go and lands a couple elbows to the side of the head. More elbows, then a few right hands, still inside full guard. He passes to half guard before the bell. PMN scores it 10-9 for Masvidal.

Round 3 – Masvidal checks a leg kick. Jab from Masvidal. Masvidal shoots, Cruickshank uses a standing kimura to get free of the clinch. Tries taking Masvidal’s back but ends up on his own back with Masvidal on top inside guard. Cruickshank gets to his feet, takes a knee to the chest on his way up. PMN scores it 10-9 for Masvidal, and the fight 29-28 for Masvidal.

Bobby Green vs. Josh Thomson – 155 lbs.

Round 1 – Big leg kick from Thomson to start. Green checks the next couple. Leg kick from Green. Thomson smiles. Right hand from Green, Thomson slips to the mat. Leg kick Green. Front kick from Green, leg kick. Green using a lookaway for a moment. Head kick from Thomson and Green talks smack back. Green right in his face. Right from Thomson, then he takes an eye poke that halts the action. Back at it. Hug. Green checks a couple kicks. Jab from Green. To the body next. Leg kick. Green right in his face, does some great slipping to avoid punches. Right from Thomson. Green is the one pressing the action. Leg kicks from Green. Another. Pretty close round. PMN scores it 10-9 Green.

Round 2 – Body kick from Green. Head kick from Thomson, almost lands solid. Not quite, according to Green. They trade a couple punch combos, Green rolling with most of them. Head kick from Thomson. Nice right to the body from Green who is right in Thomson’s face, stalking. Nice jab from Green. Right from Green. Leg kick from Thomson. Leg kick from Thomson, another. Green talking to him. A lot. Leg kick, body kick from Green. Overhand right from Thomson. Body shot from Green. His speed is impressive no doubt about it. Jab from Green. Thomson with a trip takedown, Green gets up and then slammed back down but Green is right back up. Thomson with a left to the body, right over the top. Jab from Green. Front kick Thomson. I had Green winning the round until the takedown, so it evened it up a bit. I still have Green getting it though, 10-9.

Round 3 – Green takes the center right away. Overhand right, left to the body. Thomson counter-fighting. Green shoots, Thomson stuffs it. Right from Green in the clinch, knee to the body. Another right on the break. Jumping knee from Green. Thomson goes for the single. Green avoids it. Leg kick from Green. Again. He seems to be in Thomson’s head a bit. Right from Green, front kick. Big leg kick from Thomson. Nice right from Thomson, more punches and a body kick. Green ties him up. Thomson seems to be cut. Green gets him down, Thomson right up, Green still on the single, eats some hammerfists and lets go. Body shot from Green. Left from Green. Leg kick. Body kick Thomson. Green ducks a head kick and they slug it out until the bell. PMN scores the round 10-9 for Green and the fight 30-27 for Green.

Dennis Bermudez vs. Clay Guida – 145 lbs.

Round 1 – Body kick from Bermudez. Front shin kick from Guida. Then a nice right hook lands for Guida. Jab, leg kick from Bermudez. Guida shoots, stuffed. Clinch, Bermudez with a front headlock, lands a knee, then another, and a right hand. Guida shoots, stuffed. Jab, leg kick from Bermudez. Bermudez stalking, lights Guida up with punches. Guida goes for his back, but gets dumped. Bermudez shoots, stuffed. Guida cut and bleeding around his right eye from those knees. Bermudez backs him to the cage and lights him up again with strikes, then takes Guida down, taking his back, looking for the choke, both hooks in. Guida hams it up for the camera before the bell. He makes his usual run around the Octagon to the corner. 10-9 Bermudez. Guida with the traditional big belch. It’s normal.

Round 2 – Right hand from Guida as Bermudez shoots in. Stuffed. They go back to striking. Leg kick from Guida, right hook. Bermudez landing some significant jabs. Big overhand right from Guida. One two from Bermudez. Another nice right from Guida but Bermudez takes him down, gets back mount and is looking for the choke, both hooks in and Clay Guida just tapped out. But still takes his jog around the Octagon.

Anthony Johnson vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira – 205 lbs.

Round 1 – Johnson tags Nog, backs him to the cage and lands several uppercuts and big punches and Nog goes out. And just like that my friends, “Rumble” Johnson takes one step closer to a light heavyweight title shot. I don’t think Nog landed a single punch. I so much want to see him fight Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier … at the same time. Just joking. Both of them at some point.

They called this a TKO, but that looked like a KO to me.

Matt Brown vs. Robbie Lawler – 170 lbs.

Round 1 – Brown makes his way to the cage first. Lawler walks out next… to Eminem. … Here we go kiddos. Brown is a little taller. Brown takes the center flashing a jab, a combo from Lawler backs him up. Then a counter left. High kick from Brown.  Big uppercut from Lawler. Brown looks OFF. Lawler looks ON. Inside leg kick from Brown. Nice left hook, right straight from Brown. Left counter hook from Lawler. Left right, elbow from Brown, another elbow. Clinch, takedown from Brown. Holding the neck. Robbie is up. Clinched against the cage. Brown seems to be cut on his eyebrow. Nice left hook from Lawler. Still clinched against cage. Fighting for position. Elbow from Brown, again. Again. Lawler lights him up with a right and a knee. They separate now. Huge body kick from Lawler. Right from Brown. Body kick from Brown. Wow! Already fight of the night easily. PMN sees it 10-9 Lawler.

Round 2 – Left from Lawler. Not much landing for a while now. Nice body kick from Brown. Brown gets an easy single leg takedown. Lawler gets right up though. One two from Lawler. Nice jab. Inside leg kick from Brown. Nice straight left from Lawler. Nice jab. Spinning back kick from Brown, he then lights Lawler up with a nice combo. Nice right from Brown, another combo, then some clinch work, lands an elbow. Big body kick from Brown. Big body kick from Lawler. Lands another one. Close round. I’m leaning toward Brown cause he was pushing the action. Brown 10-9.

Round 3 – High kick from Brown blocked. He shoots for the takedown, elbow from Lawler cuts Brown. And he stuffed the takedown. Nice counter punch and huge left kick to the body from Lawler. Trying to take him out like Erick Silva almost did. Left uppercut counter from Lawler. Right from Brown. Right counter hook from Lawler. Right hook from Brown. Huge body kick again from Lawler, and it’s called as low and he’s given time to recover. Replay shows it was not low. Takedown attempt from Brown, stuffed. Another body kick from Lawler. Big body kick from Brown, again. Head kick from Lawler scores. PMN sees it 10-9 Lawler.

Round 4 – Lawler catches a high kick and dumps Brown on his back. Lawler on top in half guard now. Lawler postures up, looking to pass. Brown gets to his feet but Lawler drags him right back down. Brown gets to his feet and free. They square up. Brown may have come into this fight injured. He just has not looked like himself. Nice high kick from Lawler. Right from Lawler. Big left. body kick from Brown hits the forearms. PMN sees it 10-9 for Lawler.

Round 5 – Brown’s corner told him he needs a finish. Body kick from Brown, left right combo. Lawler fires back. Brown in his face, gritted teeth, throwing elbows. Lawler lights him up with a body kick and punch. Pushes Brown to the cage, backs out. Nice left from Lawler. Brown’s hands low. Brown lands a combo. Knee to the body from Brown. Body kick, right hand to the body from Brown. Brown’s face busted up. Lawler fires off shots. Brown fires back, pouring on the heat with punch combos, a big body kick. Huge body kick hurts Brown. Brown’s hand seems injured but he’s throwing it anyway. Body kick and a right hand from Brown snaps Lawler’s head back. One minute to go. Knee to the body from Brown. Brown is a freaking warrior but he did not win this fight, and his face shows that he knows it. PMN sees the round 10-9 for Lawler and the fight for Lawler 4 rounds to 1.
