After much speculation, Rickson Gracie finally has a set date for his Jiu-Jitsu Global Federation. The Jiu-Jitsu Global Federation’s debut will come on July 18, 2014. Very little details about the Federation are known so the rest is a mystery; however one interesting detail has emerged. Rickson Gracie plans on tweaking the current Jiu-Jitsu rule set to favor attacking instead of positional dominance.
Competitors will now lose a point for pulling guard; they will also be awarded lesser points for positional dominance. Submission attempts will gain you 3 points in this format. This should make matches more exciting for the casual viewer.
