chael sonnen-post-148 faceFollowing a second failed drug test, this time for HGH and EPO, Chael Sonnen has been released from his broadcasting duties with FOX Sports. ProMMAnow.com received the following statement upon request:

“The UFC and FOX Sports organizations announced today the termination of their respective broadcasting services agreements with analyst Chael Sonnen. This decision comes in light of Sonnen failing a second test conducted by the Nevada Athletic Commission for banned substances in June. Sonnen was previously under temporary suspension by the Nevada Athletic Commission for failing an initial test conducted in May.”

Interestingly enough, this is exactly what MMAJunkie columnist Ben Fowlkes said should happen if the UFC (and by default FOX Sports), wanted to make a clear statement that they are against performance enhancing drugs in their league.

The slick-talking Sonnen was able to shimmy his way around the first failed test, claiming the drugs were necessary for his health following the ban on TRT. But HGH and EPO (what Lance Armstrong took and Chael lambasted him for) is something entirely different and are clearly used for performance enhancing purposes.

Well, if Chael needs any career advice on what to do next, he should read our “7 Careers Ex-UFC Fighter Chael Sonnen Should Now Consider” article. What do you think he should do next?
