Batista returned at the 2014 Royal Rumble and won it, but instead of the cheers HHH’s lifting buddy was supposed to get – he was booed out of the building. Shortly after his return the fans nicknamed him Boo-tista and chanted it at any given chance. After the Royal Rumble match Batista was out of breath, and looked like he couldn’t catch it after what seemed like three minutes of action.

His performance at Wrestlemania XXX in the main event with Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton was an incredible and welcome contrast from poor outings weeks prior. It was then that Batista, already making a name for himself in Hollywood, left again. Here is the WWE RAW segment from June 2nd where Batista leaves Evolution and quits the WWE.

According to Pro MMA reader William F, Batista was telling a lot of fans at his appearance at Wizard World in Philadelphia this past weekend that he is definitely going be back in the WWE but only after Guardians of the Galaxy is released. He could be back in August, but we are betting on early September.

Batista was a monster and a perfect fit for the WWE’s Ruthless Aggression era. He was known as Leviathan in Ohio Valley Wrestling and came from the class that produced John Cena, Randy Orton, Brock Lesnar, and many other stars of today. He has always been polarizing, but he has never been a jerk in any report ever printed by fans. For that we commend Dave.

Here is the trailer for his new movie, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. It opens everywhere July 31st.
