4 Things you might not know about Chael P. Sonnen

Chael Sonnen is an icon of MMA. He is the best fight promoter and trash talker to grace the UFC’s Octagon. Despite two failed drug tests he is still one of the most beloved, or hated fighters to ever put on 4 oz. gloves. Here are 4 things, one for each glove oz., that you may not know about him.

1. It’s hard to believe that a guy with a potential God complex is a christian, but he is. Chael P. Sonnen is a Catholic.

2. Sonnen announced on May 05, 2013 that he would like to buy Vince McMahon’s dynasty WWE  then worth $700,000,000 after he retired. His rep said he was not joking and we believe it. A snarky WWE rep said it was not for sale, and said Sonnen needed to purchase stock in the company instead. The WWE would be a lot better off with Chael P. at the helm.

3. Chael Sonnen actually ran as the Republican candidate for the  Oregon House of Representatives 37th district in 2010. In June of that year , Sonnen dropped out of the race,  referring cryptically to a legal issue in 2006 involving real estate. We actually figured it was because they didn’t want to hear Sonnen tell a Democrat, “Senator Whatchacallit, you absolutely suck…”

4. January 3, 2011 – Sonnen pleads guilty to money laundering and mortgage fraud. He testified against others in the investigation so he was only fined $10,000 and got two years probation. Sonnen was a Realtor in Oregon and as the agent for a home sale in 2006, had someone pay a plumbing company owned by Sonnen’s mom for repairs – which he knew would not happen. The mortgage company agreed to the loan and his mom’s plumbing company was paid $69,000. Gangsta.
