“Losing is inevitable. Make sure you have the tools in your toolbox to deal with it.”

Speaking at TEDxUChicago last month, former UFC Middleweight champion Rich “Ace” Franklin explains how to be an effective loser. Who has ever done something great without suffering setbacks and losing at some point? Franklin was on top of the world when he lost his UFC Middleweight title via vicious TKO to Anderson Silva at UFC 77 back in 2007. He rebounded from that loss though with a TKO victory of his own, over Travis Lutter at UFC 88. Franklin went on to fight several more times in the UFC, winning some and losing some, but he found a way to carry on and give his best effort. Since last fighting in 2012, Franklin has focused his efforts on business and furthering his professional career outside the Octagon.
