zach makovskyUFC officials have announced a flyweight bout for the upcoming UFC 176 event that’s slated to take place on August 2 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Zach Makovsky and Jussier Formiga have verbally agreed to fight one another in a battle of top 10 flyweights.

The event will be headlined by the UFC featherweight championship rematch between champion Jose Aldo and challenger Chad Mendes.

Makovsky (18-4) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Josh Sampo at UFC 170 in February. Makovsky has won both of his UFC fights via unanimous decision.

Formiga (16-3) is coming off a first round submission win over Scott Jorgensen in his last outing in March. Formiga has alternated wins and losses in the UFC and has an overall record of (2-2) inside the Octagon.
