UFC officials have announced that former featherweight title challenger Ricardo Lamas will return to action against Hacran Dias at the UFC Fight Night event in San Antonio on June 28. The event will take place at the AT&T Center and will be headlined by the featherweight scrap between Cub Swanson and Jeremy Stephens.
Lamas (13-3) is coming off the unanimous decision loss to Jose Aldo in his bid to become UFC featherweight champion. Lamas had rattled off four consecutive wins prior to the loss to Aldo to earn the title shot, including a submission win Swanson mentioned above.
Dias (21-2-1) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Nik Lentz in his last outing in May 2013. Dias has been out of action for over a year as he dealt with injuries to himself as well as at least one opponent. Dias is a part of Nova União which is also the training home of UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo.
