bellator 118At Bellator 118, Joe Warren will be challenging Eduardo Dantas for the Bellator Bantamweight title! Also on the card, Andrey Koreshkov vs Sam Oropeza, which was pushed to this card because Koreshkov fell ill.

Liam McGeary vs Mike Mucitelli
McGeary has 6 fights and 6 wins, his most recent victory came against Najim Wali via Armbar. Mike Mucitelli is also undefeated and picked up a decision win in his last bout against Ryan McCurdy. Neither of these men are afraid to go to the ground, as their multiple wins by submission show. I think MGeary is a little bit craftier when it comes to the ground game so ill go with him on this one.

Result: McGeary wins via unanimous decision

Marcos Galvao vs Thomas Vasquez
Galvao most recently defeated Tom McKenna via tko, while the undefeated Thomas Vasquez tapped out Alex Rojas with a rear naked choke. Vasquez is an up an comer while Galvao is an established veteran. Galvao has decent striking and excellent jiu jitsu, this should be enough to secure him the victory.

Result: Galvao wins via 2nd round submission

Andrey Koreshkov vs Sam Oropeza
I wrote about this fight previously and my pick hasn’t changed. As long as Koreshkov has completely recovered from his illness he should take this one.

Result: Koreshkov wins via unanimous decision

Eduardo Dantas vs Joe Warren
Dantas had an impressive showing his last time out, when he submitted Anthony Leone. Warren got to this title shot by winning the season 9 Bellator Bantamweight tournament. Warren will look to impose his will by using his world class Greco-Roman wrestling. To me, Warren is a bit one dimensional. He we will look to clinch with Dantas and take him down, he does have some punching power, but that is about it. Dantas has great Jiu Jitsu and is very fast on his feet. This should be a short night for Warren.

Result: Dantas wins via 2nd round TKO
