Headlining the event will be a middleweight match-up between Michael Bisping and Tim Kennedy, and the card also features the welterweight and middleweight finals of TUF Nations: Canada vs. Australia.

135 lbs: Dustin Kimura vs. George Roop

Round 1 – Touch gloves. Jab, high kick from Roop. Kimura tries to counter a kick with an overhand right. Kimura shoots, stuffed. Kimura catches a kick, and eventually gets Roop down on his back. Looks to pass as Roop shoots in and gets to his feet, pressing Kimura to the cage. They trade knees, Roop then gets a body lock takedown, and takes position inside Kimura’s full guard. Body shots from Roop, drops an elbow. Kimura trying to attack Roop’s left arm, but he eats a big elbow. Another couple elbows from Roop before the bell. PMN sees it 10-9 Roop.

Round 2 – Overhand right from Roop glances, they clinch briefly. Jab from Roop. Leg kick from Roop. Clinch, knee from Kimura, Roop presses him to the cage. Left from Roop on the break. Left hook from Kimura. Kimura shoots in and puts Roop on his back. Roop gets to his feet, Kimura puts him against the cage. Kimura gets a takedown though, and goes for Roop’s back. Roop evades the first attempt, but Kimura ends up with one hook in, then the second. Roop is able to get to his feet and goes after Kimura with strikes, then presses Kimura to the cage. PMN sees it 10-9 Kimura.

Round 3 – Nice hook punch combo from Roop, before he takes Kimura down, now inside his full guard and working ground and pound.  Couple nice elbows from Roop as Kimura tries to attack the left arm. Roop continues landing more punches and elbows. Nice big left elbow puts a mouse on Kimura’s forehead. Roop passes to half guard as Kimura fights to get free. Kimura recovers full guard but is unable to deal with this ground and pound attack. PMN sees the round 10-9 and the fight 29-28 for Roop.

Thoughts: That’s some CRAZY ASS scoring… the 29-26 score means Roop had two 10-8 rounds? No da f*ck way. Not even one.

205 lbs: Sean O’Connell vs. Ryan Jimmo

Round 1 – Don’t see this one going the distance. But then again, I didn’t see all five previous fights going the distance. You never know. Jimmo goes for a high kick but ends up on his back briefly. Back up, O’Connell presses him to the cage where they trade knees. O’Connell backs out, eats a Jimmo right. Lands a left jab. Jimmo lands but then eats a one two from O’Connell, who then pushes Jimmo to the cage, using dirty boxing. Knee from Jimmo to the body, again, O’Connell softens up the body with punches. They wrestle in the clinch and continue with the dirty boxing and knee exchanges. Jimmo takes one to the jewels and time is called. Back at it. Jab from Jimmo, he shoots and puts O’Connell down, but he gets right up. Turns Jimmo to the cage where they go back to the dirty boxing and knees. One minute to go. Ref finally separates them. Left from O’Connell but Jimmo counters with a straight right on the chin that drops O’Connell. Jimmo follows up with a few more on the chin of his downed opponent and this fight is over. O’Connell tries to get up and falls flat on his face.

Thoughts: Thank you Ryan Jimmo for rescuing us from another decision. Obligatory celebratory robot dance ensued. Paid tribute to Hulk Hogan in post-fight interview with a message to all the “Jimmo-maniacs” who should not forget to “drink their protein shakes” and “read their science books”.

135 lbs: Leslie Smith vs. Sarah Kaufman

Round 1 – Leg kick Smith, they trade a few punches in the pocket before clinching. Leslie pushes Kaufman to the cage, she lands some body shots and a head kick. Kaufman with a knee, they separate, one two from Kaufman. Smith with a leg kick. Kaufman gives one back that buckles Smith to one knee. Back up and they keep trading. Clinched against the cage now, Smith turns her around and they trade knees. Body shots and foot stomps from Smith. Leg kick from Kaufman. Nice leg kick, right, left hands from Kaufman. Dirty boxing as Smith presses her to the cage. Knee from Kaufman, she backs out. Trade leg kicks. Kaufman with a one two leg kick. Smith fires back, lands an elbow. Thai plum and knees from Kaufman, then an elbow. Smith presses her to the cage, but eats a knee to the body and a one two punch that wobbles her. Smith still in there throwing punches, kicks, and coming forward. Kaufman all over her, presses her to the cage, lands a knee and punches but Smith fires back. They tie up again, Kaufman lands the more effective dirty boxing before the bell. PMN sees it 10-9 Kaufman.

Round 2 – Smith comes out firing. But Kaufman landing the more effective punches. Thai plum and knees from Smith, she presses Kaufman to the cage. More knees. They move back to the center. Right from Kaufman, again. Then a left. Her boxing looking better than Smith. Her work rate is higher too. Smith getting a little wild as Kaufman is teeing off. Clinched against the cage, Smith backs out. Body kick from Smith. Thai plum, elbow, punch from Kaufman. Dirty boxing from both girls, Kaufman landing some nice punches, body shot, Thai plum, knee, she presses Smith to the cage. Smith tries to turn her around, but Kaufman breaks to the center where they go back to striking. Kaufman continues to be the more technical fighter and out-strike Smith. Smith looking for a single leg takedown. Dirty boxing from Smith as she backs out. Uppercut and a right from Kaufman. Clinched against the cage. Elbow from Smith. PMN sees it 10-9 Kaufman.

Round 3 – Right from Kaufman, clinch, knees and dirty boxing. Kaufman with a nice inside leg kick. Uppercut and more punches. Smith scores with a couple of her own before they clinch against the cage. They trade knees and continue in the clinch for a time. Half the round down. Kaufman goes back to landing solid punches, big right hand, leg kick, looking for the finish but Smith is hanging tough. Clinched against the cage, knee from Kaufman, nice left, leg kick, uppercut. Just picking Smith apart now. Being very aggressive. One minute to go. Kaufman gets a body lock takedown, side mount. Smith gets to her feet but Kaufman riding her and landing punches. Smith up against the cage. Kaufman lands an elbow, a knee and two big right hands before the bell, then takes a victory lap. Great showing by Ms. Kaufman. Smith also raises her hands. PMN sees it 10-9 and 30-27 for Kaufman for the shutout. Keep in mind, Smith did take this fight on short notice.

Thoughts: Entertaining fight for a decision.

170 lbs: Sam Stout vs. KJ Noons

Round 1 – Leg kicks to start from both. Big right overhand from Noons drops Stout flat. Noons follows it up with a big left right left and this fight is over. Stout tries wrestling the referee and gets him in a headlock. Big win for Noons over the Canadian Stout on his home turf.

Thoughts: Noons and Jimmo both should get bonuses for those KO’s. Great showing from Noons. Nice headlock from Stout on the ref.

145 lbs: Akira Corassani vs. Dustin Poirier

Round 1 – Overhand right from Akira. Poirier pressing. Left from Poirier. Leg kick Poirier glances. Left hook from Akira counters as Poirier comes in swinging. Brief clinch against the cage, back at it. Left from Poirier. Stalking, lands a right jab. Body shot from Akira. Nice jab from Akira, Poirier then walks in to a punch and Poirier goes down on one knee. He gets up and keeps coming forward. Eats another jab. Spin kick from Akira lands on the shoulder. Poirier still stalking. Lands a left. Seems to be okay now. Right counter from Akira. Poirier scores with a left, again. Akira scores a counter, they trade in the clinch. Big right from Akira. Body shot follows. Poirier fires back. Akira shoots, stuffed, grabs a front headlock. Now looking for the D’arce. Turns it into a Peruvian necktie, but Akira gets out, eats a knee and is cut. Great fight! PMN sees it 10-9 Corassani.

Round 2 – Fight of the Night easily, so far. Poirier stalking. Left right from Poirier. Left jab from Akira. Uppercut from Poirier, backs Corassni to the cage, then lands a body shot that crumples Corassani, but not before he eats a flurry of punches. Great fight and great finish from Mr. Poirier.

Thoughts: Fight of the Night so far. Poirier now holds the most wins in UFC featherweight history with eight. The last uppercut from Poirier broke Corassani’s nose.

170 lbs: TUF Final – Olivier Aubin-Mercier vs. Chad Laprise

Round 1 – Overhand left from Olivier, then a high kick. Leg kick from Laprise. Olivier goes high again with a kick. Jab from Olivier. Leg kick from Laprise. Inside leg kick Laprise. Again. Olivier shoots, stuffed, they wrestle in the clinch for a moment. Laprise counters an uppercut attempt. Overhand right from Laprise. Left hook from Olivier. Nice right from Laprise as he leaps in. High kick from Laprise blocked. Nice right counter from Laprise. Olivier shoots, stuffed, eats a couple shots on the way up. Inside leg kick from Laprise. Straight right from Laprise. Body kick from Olivier. Right to the body from Laprise. Leg kick Laprise. Laprise is cut under his left eye even though he’s getting better of the exchanges. Knee to the body from Laprise. PMN sees the round 10-9 for Laprise.

Round 2 – Right from Laprise. Left hook counter as Olivier comes in swinging. Laprise with a lot of lateral movement, making it difficult for Olivier to find his range. Olivier goes for the takedown and picks Laprise up for the slam. Laprise trying to get up but Olivier goes for a guillotine. Laprise rolls out and to his feet. Nice right to the body from Laprise. Body kick from Olivier. A front kick knocks Olivier off balance and he stumbles. Back up. Olivier with a body kick; not setting them up though. Nice left from Olivier. Right to the body from Laprise. Leg kick Laprise. Overhand right from Laprise scores. Jab from Olivier. Leg kick Laprise. Again, and another. Nice straight right from Laprise lands on the chin. PMN sees it 10-9 Laprise.

Round 3 – Olivier shoots, presses Laprise to the cage, but is shoved off. Inside leg kick from Laprise. Laprise blocks a couple kicks, throws a leg kick which Olivier times for a perfect shot to put Laprise on his back. But he’s up quickly. Olivier tries to clinch him up unsuccessfully. Right from Laprise. Body kick from Olivier. Again. Right hook from Olivier. Right from Laprise. Nice combo from Laprise, catches a kick and sweeps the back leg of Olivier and he goes down. Ref lets him up. Uppercut from Olivier scores. Body kick from Olivier. He’s pressing forward but with under a minute go, it doesn’t look like either one will get the finish. Spinning back kick scores to the body from Laprise. He misses another attempt. Laprise with a nice body/head combo before the bell. PMN sees it 10-9 and 30-27 for Laprise.

185 lbs: TUF Final – Elias Theodorou vs. Sheldon Westcott

Round 1 – They clinch up quickly, trading knees against the cage. Westcott drops levels and scoops Theodorou on his butt. Now trying to take his back, gets both hooks in as Theodorou stands against the cage. Looking for the choke/neck crank now. Theodorou looking frustrated, has two hands controlling one wrist of Westcott, he eventually gets him off and on the ground and lands some right hands. Back to the feet. They trade knees. Westcott eats a couple in the face as he looks for the takedown. Theodorou lands some elbows to the side of the head as Westcott still looks for the takedown. Westcott drops to his back to avoid a guillotine. Theodorou kicks his legs before the ref lets him up. They trade punches on the feet. Leg kick from Theodorou. Another one, nice one. Keeping his distance, lands more kicks before the bell. Close round. PMN scores it 10-9 Theodorou.

Round 2 – Westcott pressing forward, eats a right. Body kick and another right from Theodorou who is measuring him. He gets a body lock, slams Westcott. Now looking for his back. Westcott gets to his feet in time to go for another ride. Westcott looking for a single leg now as he gets to his feet. Westcott gets a takedown then jumps on a guillotine but Theodorou easily escapes and drops punches on Westcott. Back to the feet. Theodorou getting the better of the punch exchanges here, lands some nice knees, more punches and a big slam. Westcott rolls, Theodorou stacks him with punches. Two minutes to go. Theodorou gets side mount, drops elbows. Westcott gives up his back. Theodorou riding him with both hooks in and dropping punches. Theodorou says, “Hi Mom” to the cameras as he continues the ground and pound. Westcott just covering up as Theodorou drops more elbows and forces the referee to stop the fight. A TUF winner who can finish. I like it.

Thoughts: Good showing from Theodorou in his UFC debut.

170 lbs: Kyle Noke vs. Patrick Cote

Round 1 – Noke lands a kick to the cup and a brief delay in the action. Front kick to the face from Noke. Front kick to the body. Leg kick Noke. Body head combo from Cote lands. Noke catches a kick and presses Cote to the cage. Side kick from Noke to the body. Cote catches a kick and puts Noke on his back. Noke has his neck but Cote is out and inside full guard, landing body shots. He postures up with a nice elbow and more ground and pound. Another elbow from Cote. The fans cheer for Cote. Noke looks for an arm bar but Cote easily avoids it and continues to work from inside the guard. Cote stacks him with a right hand. Noke gets a closed guard but is eating more punches and elbows as the round ends. PMN sees it 10-9 Cote.

Round 2 – Noke slips on a kick, right back up, lands a low kick. Cote looking very trim and fit. Cote looking for a takedown but eats a big knee. Noke shoves him off and unloads punches as Cote covers up and withstands the assault. Cote cut on the top of his head. Leg kick from Noke, front kick. Another leg kick. Counter punch from Cote. Front kick Noke. Cote catches a leg and dumps Noke on his back, now inside full guard landing punches and elbows. Couple nice elbows from Cote. Noke looking to get up as Cote fights to keep him down. Knee to the body from Cote as Noke tries to get up. Body kick from Noke. PMN scores it 10-9 Cote.

Round 3 – Cote catches a kick, lets it go. Leg kick from Noke. Side kick to the thigh. Right hand from Cote scores. Cote shoots in against the cage, clinched, Noke breaks free to the center. Front kick from Noke. Left hook from Noke. Side kick to the thigh from Noke, then to the body. Front kick to the body. Cote catches a kick, and turns the corner, putting Noke on the ground with just over 90 seconds left in the fight. Cote inside full guard, working that ground and pound again. Nice elbow from Cote cuts Noke. Noke gets to his feet as Cote has him in a body lock. Time. PMN sees it 10-9 and 20-27 for Cote.

185 lbs: Tim Kennedy vs. Michael Bisping

Round 1 – Kennedy shoots for a single, Bisping pushing his head down. Kennedy scoops a double leg and gets Bisping on his butt. Kennedy gets him flat on his back now, on top in half guard. Right hand from Kennedy, looking for the mount. Bisping with a half butterfly guard prevents the pass. Kennedy postures up with a punch as Bisping gets to his knee. Kennedy scoops the legs though and is able to keep Bisping down for now. Not for long though as Bisping is now on his feet. Body lock from behind by Kennedy. Kennedy gets him back to the ground… crowd booing. Kennedy on top in half guard. Kennedy moves to full mount. Bisping tries to buck him off, but unable. Kennedy postures up with a punch and gives up his back. Bisping is able to recover half guard. Kennedy lands a couple elbows and punches, staying busy enough not to get stood up. Crowd boos as time runs out. PMN has it 10-9 Kennedy.

Round 2 – Kennedy blocks a couple kicks. Bisping trying to find his range with punches. Leg kick Kennedy. Nice left jab from Bisping. Kennedy lands a nice right. Then a head kick, partially blocked. Bisping backs him to the cage with a one two. Kennedy looking a little sloppy. He shoots for the single, pushes Bisping to the cage, grabs the body lock, but Bisping defends the takedown and they square back up. Flying knee from Bisping. Kennedy breathing out of his mouth. Right counter from Bisping. Left counter from Bisping. Kennedy with a front kick. Kennedy backs to the cage and eats a one two. Kennedy’s footwork basically non existent. He lands a body kick. Right overhand from Kennedy. Bisping lands a counter one two before the bell. PMN sees it 10-9 Bisping.

Round 3 – Front kick from Kennedy. One two from Bisping. Kennedy lands a nice right, he then hits a double leg takedown and is on top in half guard. Kennedy staying busy but not doing any real damage, basically holding Bisping down. Bisping threatens with a kimura but Kennedy easily defends it. Body shots from Kennedy. Kennedy now in side mount, moves to full mount. He drops an elbow and a couple nice left hands as Bisping recovers briefly gets half guard. Kennedy back in full mount now. Bisping pushes off the cage and Kennedy now in side mount. PMN sees it 10-9 Kennedy. Crowd boos.

Round 4 – Left hook Bisping. Kennedy shoots for the single, switches to a body lock, back to a single but Bisping is free. They square back up. Kennedy backs up to the cage. Lands a couple front kicks as Bisping tries to move in with punches. Nice stiff jab from Bisping. Right hand from Kennedy. Nice right hook counter from Kennedy puts Bisping on his bicycle. Kennedy sees it and goes for the takedown. Bisping defends and they square back up. Left from Bisping. Left hook from Kennedy. Nice one two from Bisping. Big right hand from Kennedy backs Bisping up and he’s wobbly. Kennedy cut on his nose. Left from Kennedy. Nice right from Kennedy, he drops his hands though and it allows Bisping to land a nice right. Kennedy lands another big right. Uppercut from Bisping before the bell. PMN sees the round 10-9 Kennedy.

Round 5 – Body lock takedown from Kennedy. Bisping gets to his feet, Kennedy drags him back down though. Kennedy on top in half guard, now full mount. Bisping pushes off the cage to get free but Kennedy stays on him in half guard. Bisping frustrated, opens his arms to the ref, and it works. Ref Yves Lavigne stands them up. Kennedy shoots, stuffed. I don’t think Bisping has the power to finish this right now and that’s what he needs on our score card. He’s throwing some one two – kick combos but nothing much landing. Right hand from Kennedy. Left hook from Bisping. Not much on their punches at this point. PMN sees the round 10-9 Kennedy, the fight 4 rounds to 1 for Kennedy.

Thoughts: Some boring ass sh*t from Kennedy. Fight had its moments but mostly wrestlef*cked him. Bisping looked very rusty after the long layoff. Looked like he was sparring. Bonuses should go to Poirier vs. Corassani for fight of the night, Jimmo and Noons for performance bonuses (two great KO’s).
