UFC officials have announced that TUF 1 winner Diego Sanchez has agreed to take on TUF 9 winner Ross Pearson in a lightweight matchup. The event will take place at the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and will be headlined by the lightweight scrap between former UFC lightweight champ Ben Henderson and challenger Rustam Khabilov.
Sanchez (24-7) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Myles Jury in his last outing at UFC 171. Sanchez has lost back-to-back fights and three of his last four.
Pearson (15-6, 1NC) is coming off a “No Contest” in his last bout against Melvin Guillard in October 2013. Pearson had lost back-to-back fights going into the bout with Guillard as well.
