Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler will battle it out for the vacant welterweight title in the main event, while top tier welterweights Carlos Condit and Tyron Woodley go toe-to-toe in the co-headliner.

Round 1 – Left from Garcia, now a right. Left jab from Spencer. Garcia puts him down with a takedown. Spencer tries using the cage to get up but Garcia staying heavy on top, holding his legs. Spencer gets to his feet as Garcia hangs on. Knee from Spencer, they separate. Spencer ducks a big overhand right. Grazing uppercut from Garcia. Nice body kick from Spencer. Jab. Nice right cross from Garcia. Body kick from Spencer. Good boxing footwork and head movement from Spencer. Head kick from Garcia, then an uppercut follows. Nice left hand, he shoots and gets Spencer on his butt. Lands a nice right as Spencer gets back up. Garcia pressing him to the cage, Spencer turns him around. Dirty boxing from Garcia. Leg kick Spencer. Again, big one. Body kick. Front kick Garcia, then a left jab. PMN sees it 10-9 Garcia.

Round 2 – Garcia lands a couple punches as Spencer tries to get inside. Spencer with a nice leg kick inside. Front kick follows. Right from Garcia. Body kick, jab from Spencer. Body kick again. Garcia shoots in and puts Spencer on his back. He gets right up, eats a couple shots but fires back and hurts Garcia with a right, wobbles him, Spencer clinches up, lands a left hook. Garcia fires back and drops Spencer. He’s taking some big shots as he gets up. Spencer firing back, Garcia shoots in and puts him down again. Amazing fight. Spencer reverses position to take top control but Garcia gets to his feet. They slug it out some more. Garcia lands a big right that backs Spencer up. Uppercut from Garcia. He puts Spencer on his back again via takedown. On top in half guard now. 30 seconds to go. Spencer rolls out the back door, back to the feet. Spencer wobbles him with a couple rights. Garcia shoots in again out of desperation. Time. I don’t even know how to score this round but I’m going to say 10-9 Spencer since he finished stronger.

Round 3 -Spencer comes out quick to try and take advantage of the more tired Garcia. Leg kick Spencer. Left hook Garcia, again. Body kick from Spencer. Inside leg kick Spencer. One two from Garcia. Left from Garcia. Right from Spencer. Big takedown from Garcia. Spencer uses the cage to get up, lands a couple left hooks, backs Garcia up. Body kick blocked. Garcia with a left jab. Spencer returns same. Garcia with a takedown, gets on Spencer’s back, now full mount. Spencer is out and to his feet quickly, lands a knee on Garcia as he gets up. Leg kick Spencer. Spencer’s leg/foot may be hurt from hitting a kick on Garcia’s knee. Kind of limping on it. Left counter from Garcia. Jab from Spencer. Spencer misses a spinning elbow and kick before the bell. PMN scores the round 10-9 Spencer (he pressed the action) and the fight 29-28 for Spencer.

Thoughts: Takedowns made the difference in the judges’ eyes I’m sure, even though he was unable to do anything with them and Spencer got up quickly every time.

145 lbs: Dennis Bermudez vs. Jimy Hettes

Round 1 – Right hand from Bermudez, leg kick. Again. Hettes ties him up but Bermudez turns him to the cage. Hettes turns him back around, and Bermudez turns him around… like a dos-e-doe dance. Back to the feet. They swing and miss, Bermudez gets a takedown but Hettes immediately back up. Bermudez presses him to the cage, gets a trip takedown. Hettes back up. Uppercut from Bermudez. Hettes with an uppercut. Hettes lands some more before getting taken down. Back up. Bermudez lands a couple punches, picks Hettes up for a slam, but he’s right up, but not for long. Back up again, clinched, dirty boxing. Clinched, dos-e-doe’ing again. Knee and an elbow from Bermudez. Dirty boxing, left hook. Right from Hettes, Thai plum, but gets taken down by Bermudez. Bermudez inside full guard. One minute left. Bermudez postures up with punches, staying busy enough, body shots. Hettes is able to get up, scramble, Bermudez looks for a guillotine, time up. PMN has it 10-9 Bermudez.

Round 2 – Clinched against the cage, knee from Bermudez, right hook counter from Hettes. Bermudez presses him back to the cage. They trade knees inside. Bermudez dumps him on the ground but he posts on a hand and gets right back up. Clinched, Hettes turns him to the cage. Bermudez shoots, lets go, leg kick, trade knees. Hettes turns him to the cage, Bermudez turns him around now. Clinch fighting goes on for a bit. Hettes tries to trip him but ends up in a disadvantageous position, back up and Bermudez tees off knocking his mouthpiece out. Bermudez puts him down but Hettes makes his way back up. Not for long. Ref gets his mouthpiece back in then Bermudez takes him down. Hettes is able to get up and hang on Bermudez’s back. Bermudez ends up on bottom after attempting a throw. Hettes on his back now with a leg triangle locked around the waist. Bermudez escapes at the bell. PMN sees the round 10-9 Bermudez.

Round 3 – Clinched again against the cage. Bermudez backs out with a right. They both miss a few strikes before Bermudez drops Hettes with a right hand. He postures over him between guard, trying to pick his shots and staying patient. Hettes tries to roll out, looks for an arm but Bermudez is wearing him out with steady ground and pound. Bermudez lets him up. Big inside leg kick from Bermudez. Hettes shoots, stuffed. Bermudez lands a right to the body and Hettes falls over. This happens again after Bermudez lands a punch and knee to the face and the ref has seen enough. Me too.

135 lbs: Raquel Pennington vs. Jessica Andrade

Round 1 – Right from Rocky. Clinch, she lands a knee to the body, another one. Body shots from Andrade, who pushes Rocky to the cage. Rocky has her neck with one arm, body shots from Andrade. Rocky trying to pummel under for a guillotine. Andrade gets out of there, Rocky turns her around to the cage but is turned back around, Andrade with more body shots. Still clinched. Andrade with a very nice throw, ends up on top in half guard. Andrade trying to posture up. Rocky holding her tight. Andrade picks her up for a slam but Rocky is back up, clinched. Andrade drops to a knee for another throw and is back on top in half guard, landing body shots. Rocky preventing her from passing guard. Andrade postures up. Rocky goes for an armbar. Andrade defends, passes to side mount quickly. Scramble to the feet. Knee from Rocky. Andrade goes for another throw, not this time. 10-9 for Andrade.

Round 2 – Leg kick Rocky, right hand. Right hand from Andrade. Clinch, body shot from Andrade. Knee from Rocky to the body, again. Andrade pushes her to the cage. She backs up and lands a right. One two from Rocky. Trip takedown from Andrade. Andrade tries to pick her up for the slam from guard, but Rocky stands on her feet and they trade shots. Nice double body/head jab from Rocky. Andrade lands a nice combo. Thai plum and knees from Rocky. They separate and square up. Big leg kick from Rocky. Body shot from Andrade. Left hook from Rocky, then a right. Leg kick from Andrade, right hand backs her up. They throwdown with a big exchange of punches, lots landing for both. Andrade pushes her to the cage. Thai plum from Rocky, knee. One two, leg kick from Rocky. Jab, one two. Big right from Andrade who is pressing forward. Nice counter boxing from Rocky. It’s a slugfest now as both land some good ones. Fight of the night so far. Rocky goes for a standing guillotine as Andrade pushes her to the cage. 10 seconds to go, Andrade slips out, then jumps on Rocky for a standing guillotine herself. Time up. Great fight. Don’t know who to score that round for. Leaning toward Andrade 10-9.

Round 3 – One two from Rocky. Big leg kick. Andrade pressing. Jab, straight left from Andrade. Rocky countering effectively. Couple leg kicks. Big one two from Andrade as she backs Rocky to the cage. Thai plum from Rocky again, big knee to the face. Andrade not fazed and fires back with a big one two. They trade body kicks. Now trade punches. Andrade landing some nice shots. Rocky lands a nice counter right. Andrade tees off with several punches. Rocky with a right. Andrade presses her to the cage again. Looking for the throw, then tries to pick Rocky up. Nope. They trade punches. Thai plum and knees from Rocky, elbow. Counter right from Rocky. Andrade shoots, Rocky stuffs it, lands a knee. Left right from Andrade. Another big combo from Andrade. Rocky has a helluva chin. They tie up. Rocky drags her down and lands some punches. Andrade back up. Rocky slams her from behind, lands some hammerfists. Andrade up, Rocky presses her to the cage. 10 seconds to go. Rocky backs up with punches before the bell. Great fight! PMN sees it 10-9 for Rocky but the fight 29-28 for Andrade. It could go either way though.

Round 1 – Story lands a few body shots to start. Jab from Kelvin. Another jab. Story cut under his left eye now.  Another nice jab from Kelvin. Nice right to the body from Story. Jab from Kelvin, leg kick. Straight left from Kelvin. Jab. Leg kick inside from Story. Jab from Story. Body shot from Story, right head shot from Kelvin. Head kick from Kelvin hurts Story, he goes down as Kelvin attacks and takes top control. Story with a half butterfly guard. Kelvin in side control, back to the feet. Jab from Kelvin. His jab looking great. His hands look great period. His movement too. Front headlock from Kelvin, knee to body. They separate. Big one two from Kelvin. Right hook from Story. Big leg kick from Kelvin. Big leg kick from Story. Left from Kelvin.

Round 2 – Right to the body, left to head from Story. Body shot from Story. He lands a counter right that throws Kelvin off balance for a moment. They square up. Left overhand from Story. Leg kick Kelvin. Again. Nice jab from Kelvin, again. Jab, hook from Kelvin, couple nice leg kicks follow. Right hook and a left from Kelvin. Story swings in return but misses. Inside leg kick from Kelvin. Story catches a kick, lands a one two body shot. Then a body kick. Jab from Kelvin. Jab from Kelvin. Straight left to the body from Kelvin. Lead right hook from Story. Leg kick. Nice one two from Kelvin snaps Story’s head back. Beautiful double jab from Kelvin. Story gives him a double jab in return. One two from Kelvin. Big leg kick. Big leg kick from Story. Kelvin rushes in but hesitates and Story rocks him. Kelvin tries to take his head off with punches, missing. Story knocks him down with a punch and tries to finish, time is up. Wow! 10-9 Story. What a comeback.

Round 3 – Leg kick Story. Right jab Story. Big leg kick Story. Body kick. Leg kick. Overhand left from Kelvin. Leg kick. Nice right from Kelvin, again. Leg kick Story. Left from Kelvin. Story shoots, stuffed, looking for the single against the cage. Kelvin turns him around, knee to body, they separate. Left jab, big right from Kelvin, he takes Story down, takes his back. Story shakes him off, now on top. Kelvin tries to get up but Story on his back with hooks in. Story looking for the choke with 90 seconds to go. One minute to go. Kelvin spins and takes top control but Story gets to his feet and lands a right. Nice left from Kelvin. Nice jab. Body kick Story. Kelvin shoots, stuffed, but lands a left. 10 seconds left and they swing it out, both landing. I’m going to lean with Story. It was close but he had Kelvin down for a good length of time and had his back. 10-9 Story as I see it and 29-28 for the fight.

Thoughts: There’s no way Gastelum won round two. Split decision, okay, but the judge who scored it 30-27 is crazy.

205 lbs: Ovince St. Preux vs. Nikita Krylov

Round 1 – Body kick, quick takedown from OSP. Moves to side control. Krylov holding his neck. OSP looking for the crucifix. OSP has him in a Von Flue choke as Krylov is holding his neck, and all the sudden OSP stands up and Krylov is unconscious. Amazing!! Love it.

170 lbs: Jake Shields vs. Hector Lombard

Round 1 – No glove touch. Hector comes in swinging. Clinch, Lombard judo throws him but Shields right back up. Head kick attempt from Shields, Lombard pushes him down, lets him up. Leg kick Shields, big left hand from Lombard, clinch, knee from Lombard to the body. Leg kick Shields. Lombard counters with a punch. Shields shoots, stuffed. Clinch against the cage, body shot from Lombard. Big hooks to the face from Lombard, cuts Shields. Shields escapes, they square up. Shields shoots, stuffed. Lombard throws him down, lands some punches. Shields bleeding pretty good now, wipes it from his eye. Toe to toe now. Shields showing a jab, head kick attempt. Lombard looking for the bombs. Shields shoots, stuffed. Lombard lands some big punches. Shields shoots, pulls guard. Shields has him in full guard now. Shields tying him up from the bottom but he better be very careful and I’m starting to feel ridiculous for picking Shields. Boos from the crowd at the stalemate. Lombard rakes a few elbows across the face before the bell. PMN scores it 10-9 Lombard.

Round 2 – In the corner Gilbert Melendez tells Shields to throw more kicks hard and take more shots to try and tire Lombard out. Said he’s already looking tired. Leg kick Shields, checked. High kick. Body shot Lombard. Swings for the fences for Shields’ head, misses. He tags Shields with more punches, clinch, trips Shields easily to his back. Lombard in side mount. Lombard’s corner wants him to get up. Shields with full guard. Body shots from Lombard. Ref stands up the stalemate. Lombard standing flat footed and still in the middle, just waiting. Lombard swings, Shields shoots, stuffed. He tries to pull guard. Lombard lets him up. 90 seconds left. Jake showing a jab. Boos from the crowd. Clinch, Lombard throws him yet again. Lombard in side mount. Shields gets full guard. Time runs out. PMN scores it 10-9 Lombard.

Round 3 – Lombard catches a kick and tries to counter with a big punch that Shields avoids. Body counter-shot from Lombard. Shields complains of a low blow and time is called. Shields only takes a couple seconds though. Shoots for a single, stuffed. Lombard trips him easily, now inside Shields’ full guard. Lombard works the body for a bit before the ref stands them up again. Shields shoots from the outside, stuffed again. He pulls guard, yet again. His face is a bloody mess now. Shields trying to tie him up as Lombard maintains top control but not doing much at all. Crowd booing. Ref stands them up. Lombard’s corner yelling for him to keep fighting. Lombard shoots and Shields goes for a guillotine with 10 seconds left. He survives to the bell. Not very entertaining except for Lombard landing some nice punches in the first round. PMN scores it 10-9 and 30-27 for Lombard.

155 lbs: Diego Sanchez vs. Myles Jury

Round 1 – Diego takes the center. Side kick to the leg. Diego misses a spinning back kick. Jury lands a counter right. Head kick attempt. Leg kick Jury. Body kick Sanchez. Leg kick Jury. High kick Jury, blocked. Sanchez comes in swinging, lands a right, also eats a counter right. Ties Jury up against the cage. Knees to the thighs from Sanchez. Dirty boxing from Jury as he pummels under and gets free. Jab from Jury. Body kick from Sanchez caught by Jury, tries to dump him. Body shot from Sanchez, counter left from Jury. Leg kick Jury. Sanchez taunting him into a slugfest. He lands a couple but also eats a couple. Body kick Sanchez. Right counter from Jury. Lands a head kick right on the kisser. Right hook. Sanchez chasing him as Jury plays the counter game, counters with a perfectly timed takedown. Sanchez attacks the leg for a kneebar. Jury gets out, takes Sanchez’s back. Sanchez hits the switch and is out, time up. 10-9 Jury.

Round 2 – Jury’s corner called it a “perfect round” for him. Diego takes the center. Jury with a leg kick. Switching stances. Nice body kick from Diego, he comes in swinging. Jury gets out of the way. Big right counter from Jury stuns Sanchez. He’s cut now and bleeding on from his cheek. Sanchez wobbles Jury with a big right. Jury right back in there though and seems fine. Diego didn’t follow up. Diego with a nice right. He blocks a high kick from Jury. Jab from Jury. Again. Diego’s face busted up. Nice body kick from Sanchez. Jury lands a nice counter right, then a perfectly timed takedown. Sanchez has an arm-in guillotine, squeezing… Jury gives a thumbs up. Jury is free, lands a nice elbow. Sanchez rolls to his feet. Jury lands a nice right as he gets up. PMN has it 10-9 Jury.

Round 3 – Jury takes the center this time, looking very confident. Lans a jab on the nose. Leg kick. Diego backs him up and lands a punch combo. Nice body kick from Sanchez. Head kick from Jury blocked. UFC cameramen cutting the heads off on the PPV. WTF? Nice left to the body from Sanchez. Body kick. Slapping leg kick. Again. Jury presses him to the cage. Now back to the center. Diego pressing the action, Jury times a takedown. Sanchez with a couple of upkicks to the body. Jury inside his guard with 30 seconds left. Jury postures up as Sanchez looks for an arm, then gets to his feet before the bell. Sanchez jumps guard for a guillotine at the bell. Diego shakes his hand. He has a huge gash under his left eye. 10-9 and 30-27 for Jury, I’m sure.

Thoughts: That third judge has had some crazy scoring all night.

170 lbs: Carlos Condit (170.5) vs. Tyron Woodley

Round 1 – Condit looking very focused. Has a bit of height advantage. Touch gloves. Woodley lands a huge right that backs Condit up, another one! Woodley lands a body shot and a head shot as Condit comes in. Spinning back kick from Condit. Woodley ties him up against the cage. His explosiveness is crazy. Condit with a few body shots as Woodley muscles him against the cage. Condit turns him around. Woodley turns him around, has underhooks. Lands a couple knees. Dirty boxing. Woodley backs out. They square up. Condit tags him with a left. Now a leg kick. Woodley times a perfect takedown. Rubber guard from Condit. Locks up a triangle, Woodley picks him up and throws him off. They trade punches, Condit got the better of it. Head kick attempt from Condit. Woodley times another perfect takedown. Woodley postures up. Ref lets Condit up. Spinning elbow from Woodley lands awkwardly, they trade punches at the bell. PMN sees it 10-9 Woodley.

Round 2 – Leg kick Condit. Head kick, blocked. Leg kick. Front kick. Right hand from Woodley. Another takedown from Woodley. He’s landing some punches from top as Condit ties him up in full guard. Condit throwing punches from bottom. Ref stands them up. Right from Condit. Woodley  seems to know something is wrong with Condit’s right knee — he kicks the left leg and this fight is over as Condit falls, grabbing his right knee in pain, unable to hold his weight. Rogan thinks it’s Condit’s ACL most likely. HUGE win for Woodley over the No. 2 guy.

Round 1 – No glove touching here fellas. First new welterweight champ in over six years will be decided. Southpaw vs. Southpaw. Leg kick Hendricks. Lawler counters a leg kick with right hands as he presses Hendricks to the cage then backs out. Lawler checks a leg kick. Left from Lawler as Hendricks moves in for the clinch. Presses Lawler to cage. Hendricks backs out with a left. Right hook from Lawler. Hendricks shoots, stuffed, presses Lawler to the cage. Knee from Hendricks to the face, left hand, backs out. Big leg kick Hendricks. Right from Lawler. Left  hand. Inside leg kick from Hendricks. Lawler checks the next one. Right hook from Hendricks. Jab from Lawler. They trade in the pocket, Lawler smiles. Hendricks mixing up the punches and kicks and takedown attempts well. Presses Lawler to cage again. PMN sees it 10-9 Hendricks.

Round 2 – Jab, uppercut from Lawler. Left hand. Right from Lawler. One two. Hendricks backs him to the cage as they trade shots. Nice left and leg kick from Hendricks. Lawler moving forward trying to find an opening with punches. Hendricks working the jab. One two, knee from Hendricks, then a leg kick. Hendricks being very technical with his striking. Left from Lawler. Left from Hendricks. Toe to toe. Inside leg kick from Hendricks. Nice right from Lawler backs Hendricks up. Inside leg kick Hendricks. Left from Lawler. Hendricks shoots, stuffed. Left from Hendricks. Left right left from Hendricks. Lawler looking for the counter. Neither guy using much footwork to speak of. Hendricks teeing off with punches and a kick. Lawler lands a big left at the bell. PMN sees it 10-9 Hendricks. This is a whole new Johny Hendricks fighting style. Never seen him with this many “technical” type strikes.

Round 3 – Leg kick from Lawler. Hendricks returns same. Lawler lands a couple more. Lawler with the jab. Body shot Hendricks. Hendricks with pitty patt punches. Who is this guy? Lawler landing some nice punches. Looks more like a sparring match to be honest. — Okay, scratch that for now. Nice left from Lawler hurts Hendricks. Hendricks is wobbly but still in the pocket, not shooting in. Lawler teeing off, lands an elbow, uppercut and a right hand. Hendricks shoots in, stuffed. 2 minutes to go in this round. Hendricks scores with a combo and a leg kick. Lawler with a jab, backing Hendricks up. Hendricks scores with punches and Lawler smiles. Jab jab hook from Hendricks who looks recovered. Right left right from Hendricks. Very weird fight. PMN sees it 10-9 Hendricks.

Round 4 – Right left from Lawler. Another right jab. Hendricks fires back, leg kick. Big left, left, knee from Lawler. Hendricks is hurt, back to the cage. Body shot from Lawler. Hendricks fires back. He’s using NO head movement to speak of. One two Lawler. Body shot. One two Lawler. Hendricks shoots, stuffed. Body shot from Lawler. Leg kick Hendricks. Hendricks bleeding badly now. Left from Lawler. I’ve never seen Hendricks fight like this. It’s the most unintelligent fight I’ve ever seen him in. He’s just standing there. This is like rock-em sock-em robots for real. Big uppercut from Lawler almost KO’s Hendricks. Big leg kick from Hendricks. His face a bloody mess and he gets a takedown before the bell, lands a few punches and holds a choke. PMN sees it 10-9 Lawler.
