UFC officials have announced that a heavyweight bout between Travis Browne and Fabricio Werdum will headline the upcoming UFC on FOX 11 event that’s slated for April 19 in Orlando, Florida.

The event will take place at the Amway Center with the other announced fight being a women’s bantamweight scrap between former title contenders Miesha Tate and Liz Carmouche.

Browne (16-1-1) is coming off three consecutive KO wins in 2013, including wins over Gabriel Gonzaga, Alistair Overeem, and Josh Barnett.

Werdum (17-5-1) will be coming off an extended layoff after not competing since his submission win over Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in June 2013.

This fight is essentially a true number one contender matchup, with the winner facing UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez when he’s able to fight after coming off shoulder surgery. That fight will likely take place at the end of 2014 or early 2015 provided nothing crazy happens injury wise to the winner of Browne/Werdum.
