dong hyun kim
Just over a year ago Cung Le and Rich Franklin headlined the first UFC event to be held in China. The return has been set as the TUF: China Finale is slated to take place March  1st at Macau’s CotaiArena. Headlining the event will be welterweights Dong Hyun Kim and John Hathaway.

It has been over a year since John Hathaway has competed. His three fight winning streak culminated with a win over John Maguire at UFC on FUEL TV back in September 2012. At 17-1 for his career, the only loss came on a decision back in 2010 to Mike Pyle. He was actually slated to fight Kim instead of Pyle but injury forced the South Korean off the card. Hathaway was targeted to fight Erick Silva during the summer of 2013 but he bowed out with an injury of his own.

Since losing to Demian Maia at UFC 148, Dong Hyun Kim has put together a three fight winning streak of his own. A trip to Brazil earned him a “Knockout of the Night” bonus when he topped Erick Silva. He has a fight in China under his belt already as he was on the inaugural event back in 2012 where he won a unanimous decision over Paulo Thiago.

The current season of The Ultimate Fighter China is airing with Cung Le taking charge as an advisor to the cast. The season features featherweights and welterweights.  For more on this event stay close to ProMMAnow (www.prommanow.com)
