mike_pyleUFC officials have announced that a welterweight fight between Mike Pyle and T.J. Waldburger has been added to the UFC 170 event that’s set to take place on February 22, at the Mandalay Bay Event Center in Las Vegas.

The UFC 170 event will be headlined by the light heavyweight bout between former champion Rashad Evans and Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix champion Daniel Cormier. The bout will mark Cormier’s first fight as a light heavyweight after competing exclusively as a heavyweight thus far in his MMA career.

Pyle (25-9-1) is coming off a first round KO loss against Matt Brown at the UFC Fight Night 26 event in August. Pyle had rattled off four consecutive fights leading up to the fight with Brown with three of those four wins coming via stoppage. He’ll be looking to get back on track with a win over Waldburger.

Waldburger (16-8) is coming off a KO loss against Adlan Amagov at UFC 166. Waldburger has alternated wins and losses in the UFC since 2012, going (2-2) with a “Submission of the Night” performance against Nick Catone at the TUF 16 Finale. He’ll be looking to take out the savvy veteran in Pyle who is always a tough out.
