It was a banner year for Ed Soares and company in the Resurrection Fighting Alliance that all culminated with their last event of 2013 Friday night just outside Denver. The main event featured two standouts battling for the flyweight title. Zach Makovsky was dominant in his performance and won every round against Matt Manzanares to capture the title that Sergio Pettis vacated.
The night’s real highlight was when the older brother of UFC middleweight Lyoto Machida, Chinzo Machida landed a perfectly placed knee to the face of Brian Wood for a spectacular knockout. Chinzo moves to 2-2 in his career while Wood will be sidelined for awhile due to the damage inflicted.
