UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones is taking the rest of the year off due to a foot injury. However, he is already looking towards what the future may hold in his fight career. Jones recently spoke about his desire to face UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and why he thinks it’ll be huge for the sport of MMA:
Jones is a light heavyweight fighter that walks around near 230 pounds. Velasquez usually checks in around 240 pounds for each fight, but would be substantially shorter and at a huge reach advantage. The earliest this fight would take place would be early 2015, as both fighters will not fight again until spring 2014 at the earliest.
Do you think Jones could dethrone Velasquez at heavyweight?
