Could you imagine being 20 years old and stepping into the UFC on one of the biggest pay per views of the year. That is what bantamweight Sergio Pettis did tonight on the Facebook portion of UFC 167. He walked away with his first victory.
It wasn’t an easy task for the Duke Roufus trained Pettis. He faced a a hungry Will Campuzano. The first two rounds were close but Pettis was the more active fighter. Following the second round Campuzano looked gassed but took advantage of a take down to make the round close.
When it was said and done Pettis moved to 10-0 and got his first win in the UFC out of the way. He still has much to work on but to have accomplished this at such a young age and to be in the shadow of his UFC champion brother Anthony, he must be happy.
