gegard-mousasi

Gegard Mousasi will make his return to the Octagon in February. After a win in his UFC debut, Mousasi has drawn Lyoto Machida in a middleweight contest slated for February 8th.

Mousasi made his UFC debut back in April against Ilir Latifi in Sweden. He is on a four fight winning streak and hasn’t lost since 2010 when he dropped a decision to Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal in Nashville. He fought Keith Jardine to a draw in 2011 after he was deducted a point for an illegal upkick,

Machida looked fantastic in his middleweight debut. “The Dragon” was able to knock out Mark Munoz in the first round at UFC Fight Night 30. Many have said that the win combined with the drop in weight has put him on a fast track to a contender’s spot in the middleweight division.

According to MMAJunkie.com, this fight will be a part of a Fight Night that will air on FOX Sports 2 and will be the first FIght Night of 2014.
