Lewiston, Maine (October 7, 2013) – New England Fights Mixed Martial Arts (NEF MMA) today announced a grudge match between Bruce “Pretty Boy” Boyington (3-6) and Josh Parker (4-7) at a catchweight of 150-pounds at “NEF XI” on November 9th at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine.

NEF MMA signed athlete “Pretty Boy” Boyington is coming off of a first-round submission loss at “NEF X” to underrated featherweight fighter Walter Smith Cotito (2-2). Despite the loss in September, fans described Boyington as looking leaner and faster than ever while fighting in the 145-pound weight class for the first time in his career. Boyington is well known to NEF MMA fans for winning the “2012 Knockout of the Year” award for his ten-second evisceration of Keegan Hornstra (1-6) back at “NEF III.”

“This fight has implications—it’s personal,” stated Boyington when reached for comment. “Josh and I have history. He dated my fiancé during our brief split-up years ago and there has been tension ever since. Although our names have been whispered together several times, the fight never came true until now and I intend on training longer, harder, faster and with more intensity than ever before and—let’s just put it this way—come November 9th, I will be head hunting. My last fight was my hardest defeat and that’s because I know I let it slip out of my hands and I know that I’m capable of beating anyone at 145 pounds. I don’t mind using Josh as that first step towards redemption. Get your tickets and you can come early or late, but I would make sure you’re in your seat for the Boyington fight.”

“Make no mistake about it, these guys do not like each other,” stated NEF MMA promoter and co-owner Nick DiSalvo. “It’s clear that there is serious bad blood between these two professional fighters—and it runs cold. Both challengers are known for their fiery performances to begin with, so couple that with the hatred they have for one another and we have the perfect recipe for a dramatic finish. “

NEF MMA signed fighter Josh Parker has had his own memorable moments inside the NEF cage, most notably when he submitted South Carolina MMA champion Amos Collins (1-4) who came into the fight with a 10-3 amateur record behind him back at “NEF VI” in February. However, the powerful Parker has struggled to find consistency in the cage and is committed to getting back on track against Boyington.

“I’m excited for this fight to finally happen—it’s going to be a good fight for the fans,” stated Parker when reached for comment. “I’m a fighter, not a talker—I’ll do my talking in the cage. This is a fight you’re not going to want to miss—the judge’s won’t be deciding this one.”

“The genetic gods smiled on both of these muscled fighters,” stated NEF MMA matchmaker and co-owner Matt Peterson when asked to comment on the athleticism and physiques of Boyington and Parker. “They are both in great condition and they both bring distinct skill sets to the dance, but at the end of the day they both love to strike—and when two guys that don’t like each other start swinging, it all but guarantees a great night of action for fans of big knockouts.”

NEF MMA’s next event, “NEF XI,” is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine. Maine State MMA Bantamweight Champion Paul Gorman (9-8) is scheduled to defend his title that night against Tateki Matsuda (7-4). Tickets start at just $10 and are on sale now at www.TheColisee.com or by calling The Colisee box office at 207.783.2009 x 525.
